X-Men: From the Ashes Sampler 1 - only about 2-4 pages per series.
X-Men by Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman - ok I'm happy to see
Spoiler
Quentin Quire alive.
[close]
I like most everyone on this team so I'll be checking it out.
Phoenix - by Stephanie Phillips and Alessandro Miracolo.  Ok I'm going to check this out.  This is going to be a cosmic book with appearances by some of the cosmic people in the universe.  Phillips says Jim Starlin was one of her favorite story tellers so I'll give her a shot with this.
NYX - by Kelley & Lanzing. Hard pass for me.
X-Force by Geoffrey Thorne & Marcus To.  I like the red uniforms and the characters. I'll give this a try too.
Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone - this didn't get me excited about this title.  But it's got the core characters so I'll give it an arc to win me over.
X-Factor by Mark Russell - I'm really looking forward to this one.  Can't wait to see what Russell does with these characters.
Exceptional X-Mn by Eve L. Ewing - while I really want to read a book with Emma and Kitty in it, this is not the one. I'm skipping this title.
Wolverine by Saladin Ahmed - it's Wolverine. Of course I'm going to try it. 🙂
Dazzler by Jason Loo - I'll give it a look but she's funner to read on an X book than solo.
Mystique by  Declan Shalvey - oh hell yeah!  Shalvey writing and drawing Mystique? I am so on this!
Sentinels by Alex Paknadel - honestly, I have no interest in this at all.
Storm by Murewa Ayodele - also not interested. I'll just read about her in Avengers.

I am not a fan of Failsafe and this arc. I know he's a big part of Absolute Power but ready for him to be decimated. You haven't read it yet, but Batman #150 is AMAZING!

I don't mind the Failsafe robot but I HATE the Zur personality.  I almost bailed on this Batman series altogether because of it.  Happy to hear issue 150 is good. Looking forward to it now!

My time has, once again, been taken away from comics, save for a minute or two here and there, but I think, I THINK, I am back on track for a little while. We will see. I have much to catch up on, and don't see that happening this week, but hey, we do what we can with what we have, right?

X-Men Sample - as Jeff broke the sample down by title, I guess I will do the same. I was really excited for X-Men, but after I popped into the LCS and read a few pages, my feelings have changed just a tad regarding the enjoyment level I am expecting:

  - X-Men by Jed MacKay and Stegman - I was excited about this until I read SOME of the story. Very mediocre and Hank looks like dog shit. I will give it a full chance when it hits MU, but I don't see me staying on this for long
  - Phoenix - by Stephanie Phillips and Alessandro Miracolo - Stephanie Phillips is not a draw for me, but I will try this with low expectations and hopefully it will hit for me?
  - NYX - by Kelley & Lanzing - Was going to get this until I found out Ms. Marvel is on the team. Not a fan. I'm out.
  - X-Force by Geoffrey Thorne & Marcus To -  Just don't think I care any more. Not a big fan of To's art either, so I doubt I will try. We will see though.
  - Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone - THIS is my last hope of being excited about the 2 main X titles. Hope it is good.
  - X-Factor by Mark Russell - I'll just quote Jeff ;D ... "I'm really looking forward to this one. Can't wait to see what Russell does with these characters"
  - Exceptional X-Men by Eve L. Ewing - Could not get me to read this if you water-tortured me.
  - Wolverine by Saladin Ahmed - I have tried Saladin's stuff and found it boring. Not bad, just nothing much there. Giving this a shot though
  - Dazzler by Jason Loo - I... I don't know. Maybe?
  - Mystique by  Declan Shalvey - Not a fan of the look, nor the plot summary, but I also like Declan so I am sure I will at least try this
  - Sentinels by Alex Paknadel - Quoting Jeff once more here... "honestly, I have no interest in this at all". Thanks, Jeff. Summed it up nicely
  - Storm by Murewa Ayodele - Nah... best of luck to all involved, but don't care about this

Hulk - Art was not good. Story was... well... honestly hard to read with the art. I think I made it to the halfway point. I'll just read the recap next issue. Blah.

Thor - FUN'tastic issue!!! I am also loving the art team on this book. This book should be read by everyone. It started slow with its "elder god" approach, and while it is technically diving deeper into that, the feeling of the book has totally shifted. Loving this right now.

Avengers (1975) - Kind of cheated on issues 145 and 146 as they are filler issues with horrible art by Don Heck. Not only am I not a fan of Heck's work (it has kept me away from many a Marvel issue), these issues also tell a story that happened prior to issue 144 and have nothing to do with the story. That is not, in and of itself, a bad thing, but when I was so stoked about the Perez stuff I was reading and what was going on in THAT story, being hit by Don Heck art sucked all my joy away. I read about half of the two filler issues, but ended up just flipping through most of 145 and 146. But hey, I'm back to with the story and Perez in 147 now, damn it!!

Batman - Okay, this was... fine. The story was/is getting a little long in the tooth, but I still enjoy it, mostly

Superman - Supes defying physics with how a syphon works aside  :o, this was a fun issue. Good art and a pretty good time. Starting early in this "Triangle Era" there doesn't seem to be much crossover, but I am assuming that will come at some point. Still here for this Superman read through... for now
 :)

Geiger 3 - Good progression and a nice moment between Geiger and the Knight.  Even Barney got some good moments.  Great cliffhanger as well.

Redcoat 3 - Also good progression to the story arc.  My interest is going back up.
