Welcome back, Rodney. Hope all is well now with your husband

Hoopla still slacking again this week, so far at least, so... we shall see. But hey, with 14 DC issues to read, I have plenty to keep me busy. Heck, not even counting the Magic Order collection that I either have or have not yet read... or have and don't remember a thing about it.

X-Men 6 - quiet setup issue for the new arc.

Secrets of the Legion of Super-Heroes 2 & 3 - I didn't hate it like others.  It was a fine enough origin book with the big reveal at the end.  I remember reading this as a kid and not really liking Brande being Cham's father. I guess I'm used to it now and don't really think much about it.

Fishflies 5 - Another good issue with characters starting to come together and histories revealed!

Thanks, guys! He is coming home this Friday, building strength for a couple of months, then having his next surgery. It's been seven weeks and the kids (aka our dogs) are ready for him to be home.

The Twilight Children - Excellent book! Gilbert Hernandez (Love and Rockets) and Darwin Cooke (DC New Frontier) weave a good "twilight zone" type story about a beach town visited by glowing orbs. Intriguing story with really good art that's just plain fun to look at. Thumbs up in my book!

The Ribbon Queen 3 & 4 - Man this really makes me nauseous! So creepy and scary. Yet I can't stop reading. I really want to know what this is all about!

That's good news Rodney!  I'll keep him in my prayers and hope for fast healing.  I'm sure the "kids" will be happy to have everyone home!

I think this was the first time I read where all of Brainiac 5's forefathers were named!!!

ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN #3 - More origin story and interesting changes.  Solid issue.

BATMAN #156 -  a fairly decent issue ruined by such a lame cliff hanger reveal for a villain I care nothing about.

Batman Full Moon 3 - this issue was the best so far.  I liked seeing Man-Bat and the artist did a great job on him. Glad I stuck around for this issue.

JSA #3 - I so want this to be good. A lot of my favorite characters. My favorite writer.  And yet...I'm really not enjoying this much.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE ATOM PROJECT #1 (OF 6) - Good kick off issue.  I'm in!

Can tell already there is going to be a lot of issue carryover again this week, just not able top read as much as I want to, but it looks like I am only adding two issues of Marvel and two of DC next wee, so I hope to get caught up then. I should also be over this damn cold that has knocked me on my ass by then... here's hoping.
I'll be back to talk about the ones I did get to (and hopefully others) later.

Batgirl - This is fine... really. Good art and an interesting Shiva story, but not "wowing" me so...

Batman - A little out of character moment with Jim's "Girlfriend" aside (she sounded off), this was also fine. Like Jeff, the reveal did little for me (also not a fan), but I did enjoy that there was a reveal, so that was good. Haha

Bat: Last Halloween - A much better artistic choice this issue. I have to admit that while the constant penciler change has hurt the overall cohesion of this effort, I also have to say I enjoy how they are trying to use different main points or characters in the issue to make it "feel" like the book is different looking for a reason. That said, as I am missing that connection... and it is a mini that will be collected, I think I am going to wait and read the entirety of it when finished.

Bat and Robin - A good issue, but not quite as a pull for me this month. Not sure why. Still happily here though!!

Black Canary - Wow, mom was a bitch!!!! ;D ;D ;D  I enjoyed this a good bit, but could have done with a little less of the play-by-play on the ring work. It was good, just a little too much of a good thing I feel

Superman - Still not sure why Doomsday holds sway over Supes with that particular threat  :-\ but even sadder to me... I am worried that Dan Mora may be needing a break. Lots of blacked out panels here with a ton of overly thin/sketchy art work that looks rushed (way more so than normal I mean). Ending made me excited though

Random side note, the bulk of my collection survived the fire, a few of the long boxes have water damage but my comics were stashed in my "Harry Potter" closet where the fire and subsequent fire hose did not reach. My action figures were in a plastic tote under the bed and unscathed. I lost my "recent" issues because they were stacked by the bed for me to read.

I'm seeing all these listings for What If Galactus turned a random X-Men into a herald. Any good? Looking kinda lame.

Holy cow Rodney!  That is good news about your comics and action figures!  Recent issues should be easy to replace or pick up digitally. But wow, you did get lucky on these at least.
