X-MEN #13 - X-MANHUNT Part Four - wrap up of the battle between Storm and the X-Men. Starting to get a little slow.
X-Factor #8 - X-MANHUNT Part Five - pretty good issue with good conflict between Scott and Alex. Brothers just never get along.
NAMOR #8 - Finally over. This was a decent story but suffered by being drug out way too long. I'm not completely satisfied with the outcome but there is promise of better stories coming out of the new setting for the people of the deep.
PHOENIX #9 - setup for the final battle with Adani. Nova and Rocket are becoming quite the comedy pair.
SABRETOOTH: THE DEAD DON'T TALK #4 - story moves to new angles. There's gonna be gang wars very soon!

BATMAN & ROBIN: YEAR ONE #7 (OF 12) - Clayface! Excellent. I like the old school mob villains too. Fun issue.
BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD'S FINEST #39 (WE ARE YESTERDAY part 4) - Good issue! Part 4 was a lot of fun with Superman, Batman, and Dick Grayson of both time eras!
THE NEW GODS #6 (OF 12) - the art for most of this book was terrible and distracting. It was similar to the art in Lemire's Descender series but didn't work for me here. I think I understand what the creators were going for but it just didn't work for me.
No way I am finishing this week, or at least I don't see it happening, but...

Legion - wasn't the best issue, but it isn't horrible. Did enjoy
Spoiler
the few panels of Computo waking back up again ;D
Also, you can certainly see the tonal shift in art style that Giffen will use in his later work begin to show here and in the last issue I guess... and while I can still appreciate it, for the most part (especially in the very different 5 years later run), I do miss his earlier style.
Supes Unlimited - So I wanted to try this as I am a fan of Rafael Albuquerque, at least with his American Vampire and Huck work, but wow did this look god awful. And the end... it may be fun, maybe, but I am out
New Gods - Art was not pleasant. I love watercolor work, usually, but when you have to try and decipher what it is you are seeing... it isn't a good thing. And the first part of the issue was written a little too ... over-produced for my liking. That said, I am still here as I really do enjoy what Ram V has done here overall.
Bats & Robin Year One - I know I still have a butt-load of comics left to read this week, but I am calling it now... this is the best issue of the week!!! Every one of the issues from this title have been straight up banging! Every! Single! One!! Could this be my (main universe) book of the year? Maybe. If I can remember it
;D

Minor Threats Vol 1 - I liked it! This turned to be pretty good. The obvious comparisons to Batman, Robin, and Joker as the characters who are the biggest problem made this even more fun. I'm in for the sequel.

Wynd Book One: The Flight of the Prince - This surprised me. I wanted to try it since it's a Tynion book but my expectations for my interest otherwise was low. I really liked this. It is quite an adventure and the characters are engaging. I recommend.

Got a little reading in this morning, but still wanna try and do some more. We will see how that pans out

Hellblazer - Just love how much of a d**k Constantine can be. Also nice seeing the Phantom Stranger and Swamp Thing show up for John's birthday party in one issue as well. Had to laugh when, as a present, Swampy made John's friend's weed plant grow 20 times larger (he even dried it out for them) ;D
Zatanna - Fun seeing Blue Devil, always enjoy him... although in this issue he wasn't quite "himself" ;) I am glad, in a magic based book, that Zatanna doesn't use her powers too often though, I hate reading those damn backwards spells >:( :D
Conan - Look, Conan stories are great for being what they are, though I do understand how they can, at times, feel repetitive, but that last page? Oh, this Conan fan loved seeing that!! ;)
TMNT - Another book that can be and often is repetitive, but man there is an angle here that has my interest piqued! Plus this artist is the perfect choice for this book. Using various panel angles and sizes and really knocking it out of the park visually. :)
Geiger - Good book? Yeah, sure, but there is something that always seems to get in the way of me saying "it's a great book". Art is great, dialog is great, action is, well... okay, haha, but yeah, no idea why, this book, more times than not, leaves me wanting more. And not in the good way :-\
Twig - I love platform games. From Mario to Jak and Daxter (the first one anyway) to my all time greatest one ever; Ratchet and Clank, I love that genre of gaming, and this book read, felt and looked like I was actually playing one. Very cool art, heartwarming story and dialog made this a winner. Is it my "style" of book? Visually you bet, but tonally not so much. However I do remember when the first issue hit, I told myself I wanted to read it, but I probably never would've gotten around to it had Jeff not thrown it out that I should try it. And yes, I did really enjoy it. I don't think I would have liked it as much if I, say, read those Hellbalzer issues and THEN read this, haha, I would not have been in the right head-space, but just chilling, being in a mellow frame of mind and popping open this book... oh yeah! Good stuff 8)
Power Fantasy - Very intriguing start to this... Authority'esque style of book. Art has a vibrant tone to it, and the colors pop, but not too powerfully (I don't like my hero comics with extremely bright colors). Yeah, I am interested. and looking forward to catching up on the other eight issues that are already out. And at least those are up on Hoopla! :)
Thanks, Perry! I was gonna try Superman Unlimited but glad I decided to pass.
