Title: Come Play
Post by: Perry on Sep 02, 2025, 09:05 PM
Not really a game to "play", but something I heard on one of my podcasts and I thought it was kinda cool, so I would like to see if anyone will do it. It's called "O.U.L.F" and it stands for:
Overrated
Underrated
Least Favorite
Favorite
(Why they didn't call it "FOUL" I have no idea)
:)

Anyway, we take a subject (they used "Wolverine Arcs" for example) and then we list what our own personal "O.U.L.F" would be on that subject (Again, for example, one podcaster gave Wolverine Evolution [Where Wolverine and Sabertooth were said to be from dogs] as a Least Favorite while another said "Origin" was his Least Favorite, while he answered Old Man Logan as his most Overrated).

You get the point.

Currently, we are working through this topic - Super-Hero Teams

Mine (and very unintentionally all Marvel) -

Overrated - New Warriors - I was never a fan of the 90's and this was really a 90's comic
Underrated  - Squadron Supreme - I mean, it's Marvel's Justice League
Least Favorite - Champions - While Defenders are a strange group, somehow they gelled as a team. This team was laughable
Favorite - Fantastic Four - My first love is of course the only answer for me here (Invaders would be a not-too close second)

So yeah, easy enough right? So come on, what does your OULF for "Teams" look like?
:)

I have ..

Overrated - Young Avengers
Underrated - Fabian Nicieza's Thunderbolts
Least Favorite - Champions of the Unknown
Favorite - Next Wave! :D

Overrated - Justice League International... the Giffen/Maguire era of slapstick heroics is lost on me.
Underrated - The Outsiders... the original team with Batman, Halo, Geo-Force, etc.
Least Favorite - The Defenders... a bunch of folks who couldn't cut it as Avengers.
Favorite - New Teen Titans... was there any doubt?! The Wolfman/Perez era is my favorite, but some teams could easily be my Least Favorite.

Some cool answers, guys

How's about this one...

Batman Villains

Mine -

Overrated - Bane- I like him, I do, but not as much as most I guess. Except for that outrageous version in Absolute, that I love.  ;D
Underrated  - Poison Ivy- She's just so damn powerful. Almost Swamp Thing level, but in a hotter body.  ;)
Least Favorite - Hugo Strange- I just don't care. Never have.
Favorite - Joker- Yes, also overused, overreferenced and overdone, but there is a reason for that. The Chaos to Batman's Order. THE Nemesis
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Gay Titan on Sep 07, 2025, 03:15 PM
Overrated - this is a tie between the Joker and Harley Quinn. Just can't understand the hype.
Underrated - the Riddler. I enjoyed the recent arc where he was a tech business guy. More than just a villain.
Least Favorite - Scarecrow. Lame AF.
Favorite - Catwoman. I love a good Selina story. She gets to Bruce/Batman in ways no one else can. LOVE her!

I already got my next topic, but hey, anyone can drop one if they have one. Drop away, guys.

And Jeff, I know you have your list for the first one, so come on in, the water is great
:D

I don't have any suggestions yet, but I really like this game.
Title: Re: Come Play

Batman Villains....

Overrated - Black Mask. When I first started collecting comics back when Tim Drake first became Robin, this guy was a big deal because....reasons? I don't know, and I just don't care.

Underrated - I would have said Penguin once, but that has changed! I'll go out to left field to say Catman. Not that Blake has much to deal with in the Bat-universe and mythos anymore, but he did start here!

Least Favorite - Poison Ivy Sorry ya'll, but I just get bored when she comes in the Batman books (I have no clue how she is in her title), but the bored with society/hateful of society presentation / and all plants are better shtick I find to just suck.
But this may be best as Zsasz, because he's straight up a serial killer, and who cares about that as a story antagonist? Yuck

Favorite - Two-Face. There is such a great dynamic of this villain/good old friend to Batman, that when done right, with the psychoses, is so great to read.

Not sure how I missed this topic but sounds fun!  I'll try to catch up!

Quote from: Perry on Sep 02, 2025, 09:05 PMCurrently, we are working through this topic - Super-Hero Teams

Overrated - Runaways - I never could get into this title but it seems like everyone else loves it?
Underrated - Fabian Nicieza's Thunderbolts - totally agree with Jimmy here.  This is one of my favorite runs and teams.
Least Favorite - Justice League Detroit - the low budget spin-off nobody asked for.
Favorite - The Uncanny X-Men - yeah, I went with the obvious one but I ALMOST put Legion of Super-Heroes here!
Title: Re: Come Play

Quote from: Perry on Sep 07, 2025, 12:37 AMBatman Villains

Overrated - Ras Al Ghul - Creators seem to love him but I've never thought he was all that.
Underrated  - The Riddler - I agree with Rodney, he can be so much more.
Least Favorite - Vandal Savage - I can't stand this character.
Favorite - The Riddler - He took first place when I was a kid and watching the old Adam West series.  And stayed there all the way to adulthood.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Jeff on Sep 10, 2025, 05:02 PM
How about this one (for Rodney  ;D )

The Teen Titans (All versions)

Overrated - Are any of them really overrated?  But since I have to pick one I'll go with Nightwing.  Once was my favorite back in the original days when he was Robin, he's become a lesser leader these days and gives up his authority to Donna way too much.  He was trained by Batman for goodness sake.
Underrated - Starfire - She had so much potential back in the early days when she was so naive.  But later writers don't seem to know what to do with her.
Least Favorite - Gnarrk - A prehistoric teen with enhanced strength and a psychic bond with Lilith.  Just as dumb a character as his name.
Favorite - Kid Flash (Wolfman/Perez version) - I related to Wally the most back in this era.  Including his crush on Raven.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Jimmy T on Sep 11, 2025, 09:54 PM
Favorite: Tim Drake! Because,...Time Drake!

Overrated: ...sorry, it's Raven. So much, too much woe is me!! LOL

Underrated: I may say Cyborg, honestly.

Least favorite: Bunker. But that's because of all the Titans missteps with New 52
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Gay Titan on Sep 12, 2025, 01:02 PM
I LOVE this one! Thanks, Jeff  ;D

Overrated - Raven. The original version was so cool, but the current one is excessively angsty and more drama than a gay man.
Underrated - Aqualad/Garth/Tempest. So much potential and back story. He could have his own book but is portrayed as a second stringer.
Least Favorite - Lilith. She's the daughter of a Titan (like an actual mythical Titan) and yet she is a complete bore.
Favorite - Definitely a tie between Golden Eagle and Red Star aka the Russian Starfire. Both are MIA since Rebirth. With the events of All In and Absolute, now is a prime time to re-introduce us to them.
Title: Re: Come Play

Yeah! I was thinking underrated for Garth as well!
Title: Re: Come Play

I almost put Red Star as my under rated. Always thought he had a lot of potential.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Perry on Sep 15, 2025, 01:04 PM
Hmmm, okay, Titans...

Overrated - Starfire - This is tough for me, for like Jeff I have to question if I think any of them fit this label and while I am putting this character here, it's only because I couldn't think of one to top her, but I am going with Starfire. A true pleasure to gaze upon, especially in the 80's (prior to everyone screaming "cover her up" ::) ) and a character I truly enjoy but an alien that shoots energy isn't the most unique of things. Again, I like her, don't throw stones ;D , but of the choices I have...

Underrated - Wonder Girl - Yeah, I'm going here. She is strong as hell, fast, essentially Wonder Woman v2.01 and a core member to the team yet other than a few creators falling in love with her (Perez and Jimenez to be precise) she seemed under utilized to me. But again, this is a hard one for both me (having to choose) and the characters (being so good  :) )

Least Favorite - Malcolm - Easy. Done. Nothing more to say about this guy. I almost put Wildebeest here, but no way I can't go Malcolm

Favorite - Raven - And no, I am not talking about the teenage craptastic version we were given for most of the more recent Titans stuff, but I am talking old school, daughter of freakin' Trigon; Raven. The one that had to fight to control the evil she had swelling inside her very fiber. The cape that sent people insane from the "travel". Yeah, that was my girl!!!

Okay, here is my OULF for the "S"

Overrated - Squirrel Girl - I almost put Spider-Man here, only because you have to be highly-rated to begin to be overrated and there are few characters so highly rated ;D, but I don't think any character explodes with the overrated in the word overrated to me quite like this fluffy tail chick. Especially when she was so prominently used a few years ago. Yuk

Underrated - Silver Surfer - Dude has the ability to tap into "The Power Cosmic"... he should be on the Avengers, always. He should be featured just as much as Thor or Captain Marvel is in any Marvel mega-event, always. Dude is awesome, yes, always.

Least - She-Thing - Ugh, One of my favorite times reading the F.F was also one of my least favorite, as the title often featured the trials and tribulations of Sharon Ventura... especially when she was transformed into the She-Thing.

Favorite - Sue Storm - I know I didn't even need to type that one because everyone knows she's my girl.

Favorite - SPIDER-MAN! My first solo collected comic from Marvel

Overrated - Sentry; I enjoy how it started as a fun joke of a found 'lost' character from the 60s, but when it was kept around....I just didn't feel much from having this character added.

Underrated - Speedball - yeah, he's goofy, he bounces, everything bounces around him. But when he became Penance after the Civil War event, in a way to enhance his powers, I think it was written by Paul Jenkins, and it was AMAZING to watch what Robbie Baldwin could become!!!

Least - Storm . I just....don't buy into her.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Jeff on Sep 22, 2025, 03:55 AM
Had to think hard on this one. Here's what I came up with...

Overrated - Shuri - a nothing character until the Black Panther movie came out and definitely not worthy of the Black Panther mantle.

Underrated - Siryn - Loved this character in Peter David's X-Factor. She was so much more than just Banshee's daughter.

Least - Shark girl - worst X-Men character EVER.

Favorite - Spider-Woman - Love Jessica Drew and miss her days in Avengers (Bendis)
Title: Re: Come Play

Overrated - Storm... overused and too powerful.
Underrated - Stephen Strange... not on my regular reading list but I do keep up on things
Least - Shuri... just don't care for her as a character
Favorite - Spider-man... gotta love ol' webhead!

Well, didn't take as long as I thought... which means I forgot some really good ones and you guys will type them and I will immediately regret going so soon.
;D

Overrated - Age of Apocalypse - It doesn't help that I was completely over the X-Men by the time this even hit and in fact, I was almost entirely, if not entirely, out of comics all together back when this puppy hit. Keep that in mind as all this is for me, primarily, is a collection of stories with "bad art" (subjective as it is... I like Joe Madura art fine for example, on some things). I understand the impact that it had, not just in the comic world and on the comic community, but for me it is a nothing burger. Most Marvel art in the mid-90's suuuuuuucked (hey, funny how things return to form)  ;D

Underrated - Earth X - I was still out of the comics scene when this hit, but after getting back into the swing of things again (With Negation #2) I found the collected edition of this at the small LCS by my house (Trilogy Comics), bought it, soaked it up like a sponge sitting in bourbon, re-read it, then re-read it again. And while I know it was extremely popular at the time, so not truly deserving of an "Underrated" tag to most, I miss all the talk and reflection that went on during that initial timeframe and so yes, to me, underrated  ;)

Least Favorite - Mojoverse - Can't stand this alternate universe where TV is king (You would think I would fit right in). I just see that damn Mojo and my eyes glass over with apathy. And while I have enjoyed me some Longshot, Shatterstar and Spiral**, I haven't read a good story with them in years. surely only because I avoid them  :(

Favorite - Flashpoint - There was no question this damn ting was going to be my tops. I still think fondly about this entire event. So damn interesting. In-fact, this was kind of the Absolute Universe before the Absolute Universe was a thing. I mean, not exactly, and sure, you could say that about a lot of titles/runs, but those other titles and runs don't live rent free in my brain like Flashpoint does. One of the best alternate timeline stories there is. Plus, having Flashpoint as my Favorite gives me those two glorious capital letters; "FF"  ;)

** Spiral? Oh yeah! That's another show the wife and I are currently watching!!! I forgot about that one!
;D

Overated...DC's Earth 3. I am okay if I never seen the Crime Syndacite again. I like that it's Donna, not Diana, but still don't see the hype.

Underrated... Marvel's Earth 398(?) was a cool twist where Morgan Le Fay ruled and the Avengers had a Medieval spin. It was a short arc but a ton of characters. I would love to see them return.

Least Favorite...the Image universe. I tried reading ShadowHawk, Savage Dragon, Youngblood, etc and nothing grabbed my attention. They're not horrible, just not my cup of tea.

Favorite... DC's original Earth 2. I remember reading the All Star Squadron as a kid. Instead of Superman and Wonder Woman, there was Red Bee, Flamebird, Baron Blitzkreig, and Liberty Belle. Eventually, DC tried marketing the Young All-Stars to parallel their success of the NTT. I would agree with Perry's Flashpoint as second place.

Since all are going in this direction.....

OVERRATED - Spider-Verse. The special thing about Peter Parker is NOT duplicating him a thousand times over. This is just a part of current Spider-Man lore that I just don't think is worth it, or good. But that's me.

UNDERRATED - Justice League the Nail? It's Alan Davis art, and I loved these both, even if I think part 2 doesn't hold up as well. OH, EXILES!!  that's my pick!!!

LEAST FAVORITE - DC HEAVY METAL. A sequel wasn't needed, it really confused a lot of the multiverse people & history, and oh yeah, the Batman Who Laughs.

FAVORITE - Cutesy answer? Planetary!! True multiverse is Superman Red Son. I LOVE that book!!!

This was cool, Rodney!!

Let me sharpen my blade.....

OVERATED: Spiderverse - gotta go with Jimmy on this one.  Way too many alternates taking so much away from Peter Parker.

UNDERRATED:  AGE of APOCALYPSE - only to offset the injustice of Perry's rating!   ;D   This actually brought me back to the X-Men after my comic hiatus.  The only thing I hated about it was "Sugarman" and I couldn't believe he made it into the 616 universe.  X-Man however was a great addition to the 616 as a bleed over from this.  I loved seeing how the world turned out without Charles Xavier - another reason I hate what they've done to him lately.  Plus Blink.  Brining her back was a highlight of the universe and spawned another underrated era - the Exiles.

LEAST FAVORITE:  Mojoverse - Perry is dead on with this one.  Longshot and Shatterstar are the only good things to come out of this.

FAVORITE: Days of Future Past - the two part Claremont/Byrne tale that introduced me to the X-Men.  I have both issues autographed by both creators.  This will always hold that special place in my universe.

Title: Re: Come Play

....ALL comic movies. If it was released on a 4color floppy before the silver screen appearance, let it make your list here!
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Gay Titan on Oct 04, 2025, 05:16 PM
Overrated - ANY and ALL of the Deadpool movies! Ugh!
Underrated - Hellboy (2004 & 2008). The first and second movies with Ron Perlman were campy but fun.
Least favorite - Green Lantern. I could barely stomach Ryan Reynolds as GL, but Parallax was a cloud of fear?!?!
Favorite - Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. One of the more accurate comic movies.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Jimmy T on Oct 07, 2025, 10:03 PM
For my own....

Let's see!

Overrated - Spider-Man No Way home? I have a hard time divesting myself from the wonderful fan service this movie gives. Is it an actually good film? That's where I'm not sure. Honest!

Underrated - Shazam! This movie just gets me right in the right places

Least Favorite - Thor Love & Thunder -the disappointment of this makes 1 & 2 truly look like Hamlet

Favorite -Superman, Christopher Reeve. I get such magic warm fuzzies when he looks at us in the camera at the end of the film.
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Perry on Oct 08, 2025, 02:48 PM
Some great choices for Least favorite :) and while I would easily put either of those two on my list in that same spot, I also would love to throw Madame Web and Morbius in my hat to pull from, but as I haven't been able to get more than 10 minutes into either of those, I am going to have to pick one I did see a majority of.
Also, while I am certainly on the "Rated" side of those overrated choices above :) , it is cool to see the differences.

Man, there are a lot of bad comic movies out there. Haha. I am leaving the bad 70's and 80's movies off my list "Least" list, but yeah, there are many bad ones during that period

- Overrated - Black Panther - And no, I am not saying it is a bad movie, but the sfx were. Actually, no, those "special" effects were atrocious (mag train scenes anyone?) and yes, while I totally understand the impact and affect the movie had to and for a lot of people, and while I think the over all appeal (which was massive) was warranted, it wasn't a movie that hit for me as strongly as the attention it received. Not a bad movie, just, yeah, overrated

- Underrated - Constantine - Yes, I was in the pack of "fans" that scoffed at the hiring of Neo as John (and they didn't even have the decency to dye his hair blonde?  ;D ), but much like the outcry that occurred when Heath Ledger was hired as the Joker, and everyone lost their shit about how stupid a decision THAT was, Keanu should have silenced all the voices of scorn as he did a bang up job... making John Constantine American... and while he isn't on the same level of Ledger, he still did a very good job on a highly underrated movie

- Least Favorite - Suicide Squad (2019) - Of course this particular movie is not the James Gunn movie by the same name that came out a few years later and as I said, there are lots to choose from and on a different day I may have chosen a different movie, but I was recently flipping through stations and saw Training Day was on. I watched for about 10 minutes and moved on, but it got me thinking about other David Ayers' movies (Fury, End of Watch) and remembering how I was excited when I heard he was chosen for this movie. HA. Wow, what a disappointment. Utter shit.

- Favorite - Dredd - Amazing comic book accurate movie. Not that trash Judge Dredd with Stallone, ugh, but the TRUE Dredd!!! One of the very few movies I have seen more than 5 times

And while I chose to keep animation off this list, I certainly tip my hat to not only the two Miles Spider-Man animated flicks, I also almost put in Incredibles as my favorite F.F movie
;D

Interpretation is up to you. However you want to go with it.

Here are my thoughts.

OVERRATED: Manga

UNDERRATED: Surreal Expressionist & Art Deco Revival - examples Bill Sienkiewicz , Javier Rodriguez, Darwin Cooke.

LEAST FAVORITE: Toon/Cartoon - Flat colors, rubber-hose exaggeration, simplistic outlines.

FAVORITE: Classic Detailed Realism - examples George Perez, Neal Adams, Alex Ross, Jim Lee, Frank Quitely

Quote from: Jeff on Oct 22, 2025, 11:05 PMInterpretation is up to you. However you want to go with it.

Right on, I'll give it a go... but please note that I am probably using all the "art style" terms wrong, but only using them as a title placeholder.
;D

Overrated: 90% of artist working for the big two today (80% of which are employed by Marvel) - I have no word for this. No art style comes to mind, but damn it, I am sick and tired of looking at issues that seem as though a 6th grader drew them. A talented 6th grader sure, but still. No scene defining structures in the background, hell, usually no background at all. Sloppy line work, no attention to detail (I still remember when current Ult Wolverine artist Cappuccio forgot to draw a damn nose on Tigra, back when he was on Moon Knight. How the hell do you... anyway. Yeah. I know it is a cheat, especially when you see the same thing again below, but I can't think of a more overrated "style" right now

Underrated: Gothic - Dark tones, sweeping blacks, grey overtones... all bright colors either eliminated or toned way down. Gene Colon, Bernie Wrightson, Mike Mignola, Kelly Jones, etc...

Least Favorite: 90% of artist working for the big two - Yep, sorry, I think this fits the bill for both. Same thing as above.  :P

Favorite: Contemporary/European - Energy!! Movement... excitement. Intricate definition! Again, this may be an incorrect nomenclature, but it is the word that first comes to mind when I think of the great John Buscema. His brother Sal, even more so, although less of what I think of as Baroque. John's stuff though... he can make a still figure seem explosive. Right or wrong, when I picture either King Conan, Mephisto or Loki sitting on a throne, slouched down, with a grimace, I see so much motion in that stillness. In that way only Big Daddy John can bring. And the detail... wow. Other examples of great detail and/or energy: Geof Darrow, Mobius, George Perez

Over rated - Negative space determines form.
-this would be Mike Deodato Jr, Mike Perkins devolved art -there ARE for sure some artists where this works great! But many can just overuse it, hide poor art or panels, and just look like an ink factory. Love Eduardo Risso! Love Sean Philips!

Under rated - Minimalist Comic Classical
-Alex Toth, Mazzuchelli, Samnee, Marcos Martin at times,

Least favorite -Exaggerated pseudo manga inspired
-Humberto Ramos, Skottie Young (on Big Two book), Rossmo

Favorite
-Classical Representation - George Perez; c'mon, need I say more? ;)

Okay, dropping more...

OULF Justice League

Overrated - JLA - I know I am going to get grief for this, and I'm not saying it is bad... it most certainly isn't... I enjoyed it, but I think, of all things JLA centered, Grant Morrison's JLA is my pick for the one that gets the most talk, but deserves maybe just a little less of it? Yeah, okay, slam away

Underrated - The Nail - Oh how one little nail in a tire can change things

Least Favorite - NU52 - I understand how a lot of people will go with Identity Crisis as their initial pick and I get that, but for me, I knew I was in trouble when I saw that Cyborg, a Titan... A TITAN!!!... was being 'retrofitted' to be a founding member of this team. NO! As much of a fan of John's and, to a lesser but still respectful amount, Jim Lee's work, this 'corporate mandate' team never hit for me. Add in the convoluted time frame with Bat's and it all was a huge cluster

Favorite - Justice League of America #200 - While I can appreciate Kingdom Come, there was little doubt that this single issue was going to be my pick. In the late 70's early 80's I was not too much into DC. I was a Marvel head mostly, though I never avoided DC it just wasn't a thing a ran towards for the most part. Sure I was reading Batman, Teen Titans, Legion, the occasional Sgt. Rock or Creature Commandoes and even an issue or seven of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew ;D but I wasn't buying much DC otherwise. Other than, of course, I was aware of whatever George Perez was working on and at this time it was the JLA. I had read an issue or two leading up to this issue, but this issue... man oh man... I must have read this thing 50 times. Loved it. Still do. Hope it holds up as it may just be a Puppet Master pick
;D

And the next one to think on...

OULF - Items in comics

Magical to manufactured, from Cosmic Cube to Batarangs, Mjolnir to Jimmy Olsen's watch... what items in comics fill-out your list?
:)

Overrated - I echo Jimmy on negative space. It's cool for an occasional cover, but the Big Two (and everyone else) have gone overboard.

Underrated - cartoon style/comic strips... How many of us still read the daily comic strips? I love www.gocomics.com.

Least favorite - Manga and anime. Honestly, what's the difference. It's not good, it's not bad. I just don't like the simplicity of it.

Favorite - Classical representation. It's what I was introduced to and what I still prefer. My favorites as a child were Pat Broderick, Gil Kane, and Carmen Infantino.

Overrated - Kryptonite. It was great when there was just green, but now we have a spectrum and it's too much.

Underrated - Absolute Superman's cape, Sol. I think at some point it will become that universe's version of the Eradicator.

Least Favorite - any and all of the Infinity Gems. There's Gauntlet, Crusade, War, and Watch. This was a close second to my overrated answer.

Favorite - Skeets aka Booster Gold's drone sidekick. Love its wit and banter.

OULF Justice League... this one is too easy. LOL.

Overrated...Giffen/DeMattis. No secret that I loathe their slapstick approach.

Underrated...current team. I like the return to an outer space headquarters and everyone being a member. I like Red Tornado as the equivalent to the Avenger's Jarvis. This reminds me alot of the old 100 page comics where anyone and everyone could potentially team up.

Least Favorite... JL One Million... this group from the 853rd century had no point. It was an event gimick that failed. I would be ok if Darkseid's Legion eradicates them.

Favorite... Justice League (the Detroit headquarters era). The mix of Steel, Gypsy and Vibe with Vixen, MM, and Aquaman. Great mix of young, old, and very 80s.

Let's get this started again.

OULF - Marvel Mutant
Title: Re: Come Play
Post by: Perry on Nov 13, 2025, 05:14 PM
Hey, sounds cool. 8)

Okay, mainly sticking to X-Men and I know there are way cooler mutants out there, but...

Overrated - Wolverine - ONLY because of how damn unstoppable he is now. I hate this "super overpowered healing" Logan. A guy that can get all his limbs cut off AND his head, and bounce back in a mere 5 minutes nowadays. BOOOOOOO. I suppose I should change this to someone else, as this hatred is more directed at his godlike healing power that is overrated, more than the character but... hey, that is him now, so here we are.

Underrated - Namor - Much like the Silver Surfer, this dude should be used much more than he is. I get that underwater stuff isn't the biggest money maker, but put him back on a team (or non-team even  ;)) and let this powerhouse rock!!

Least Favorite - Bishop - His arrival to the comics was the catalyst of me leaving the X-books. I hated him, I hated where he was taking the X books. I am sure it wouldn't hit me the same now, I may be intrigued by him now-a-days, but yeah, at the time...
On a side note, I do admit I loved him in that "District X" title that came about years later. I need to revisit that in-fact.

Favorite - Madrox - This honestly changes each year I think. From my favorites being Beast (back when he was hanging with Simon), to Wolverine (back before he he could reattach his head in seconds) to Nightcrawler (love the idea of him being so religious) to Colossus (looking so damn cool in that metal) to the aforementioned Namor (again, a true powerhouse), but through all that, whenever I make a list, I always seem to have Jamie in my top 5, regardless, so I think I am putting him as my favorite. At least for now
;D

OVERRATED... Jean Grey!!! Similar to Perry's gripe about Wolverine, she is too powerful to have anything important happen to her. She's alive, dead, alive, dead, cloned, transferred the Phoenix force, got it back. Ugh. I would take Heather Hudson as Vindicator over Jean Grey the all mighty any day.

UNDERRATED... Darwin from X-Men Deadly Genesis. He pops up every so often in "big" events but loved his debut.

LEAST FAVORITE... Ms Marvel. I didn't care for Kamala before she became a mutant and like her even less now that she is one. Her tv series was painful to watch.

FAVORITE... This is a tie between Blink and Colussus. Her mini series and leadership in the first Exiles series are some of my favorite comics to re-read. His characterization is amazing and makes him more than an armored powerhouse.

Good one. And I know it is childish and stupid of me, but I still refuse to call her a mutant.  :-X

I got through about 10 minutes of it.

OULF Justice League

Over rated -I'll agree with Grant Morrison's work, if only for the stupid 'Batman now beats everyone with prep time' angle that became permanent after this!

Under rated - Justice League 3000 - clones of the original Leaguers done by Keith Giffen and the last time I really enjoyed Howard Porter art. There was supposed to be more! But things changed when shake ups occurred that got Didio fired and Johns demoted.

Least favorite  -NU 52 certainly is up there, but when Jeff Lemire got his Justice League United, it went nowhere so quickly I actually dropped the title!!

Favorite - I came fully back into the JL title when it was Joe Kelly writing & Doug Mahnke on art. The story of Trial by Fire, where White Martians had the best plan to wipe Earth-but the only thing standing in their way? Eel O'Brien-the Plastic Man! Turns out the mind control powers of the white Martians won't work on one who's brain doesn't hold to form! I LOVED the creativity of that arc. This had the near relationship of Diana And Batman, it brought us Manitou Raven & Dawn, Major Disaster was around, I had such fun in this time period!!

OULF - Items in comics

Over rated -Wolverine's claws! The metal may be able to cut anything, but its only human-like ligaments and tendons holding them in place. They could feasibly just get bent forward and rip out of Logan's arms.

Under rated -Genis' Vells Nega Bands! The stuff PAD did with them was so COOL during this run!

Least favorite  -Power dampeners. I'll stick with the X-men version, because these carte blanche items just negate any power function. What about attached ear lobes? Aniscoria? Will those correct with the collar on?

Favorite  -Starman's (Jack Knight) Cosmic Rod/staff. Great design elements!

OULF - Marvel Mutant

Over rated - Gah, I'm stuck on the over used ones of Wolverine & Jean Grey. You can still like them, even if they are over rated. anything Phoenix really. OH! How about Vulcan!!!

Under rated - Elixir. Presumably, this mutant can cure everything? Without real effort or feeling taxed? This man could change the world!!

Least favorite  -Storm. I don't even know why now. It's because she can make moving outside world things change, and especially since its weather, it bothered me a lot. So, I've just dismissed her from all my thinking.

Favorite - Colossus. Always and forever!!! The sensitive, artistic, thinking -great big super strong near invulnerable warrior!
