I'm thinking about finally cleaning out the storage and putting the bulk of my collection up for sale on eBay or just giving it all to the kids down the street - are kids even interested in comics anymore?
What about you guys? I know Rodney still likes to get the physical copies to read. Do any of you still have the floppies hanging around? What are you going to do with them?
My kids have ZERO interest in comics. I may leave a few to my Wednesday night Comics & Beer group, but most will probably be sold and the money into my estate.
Currently, I have a dozen or so long boxes of physical comics.
I'm not sure what to do about my....24 or so long boxes....
I haven't bought physical copies in 10 years....
Storing comics was always an issue for me, that is why when I finally decided to stop buying physical copies, I gave my entire collection (that I couldn't sell on Ebay ;)) away to the kids in the neighborhood and most all of my collected editions went to either my city library or that little used book store I like to frequent.
And yes, the transition was hard... at first... but I realized that I already have access to every single comic that I ever had or wish to own, so for me, it was just getting past the "Orange Lantern" compulsion to actually "own" them. It was hard for the "collector" in me, of course, but I have never looked back and desire to own not one single issue now.
Of course I say this now but not 3 months ago I found out that my youngest, no... my second to youngest granddaughter is reading comics and I could have given all the ones I had to her, and that did make me a little pissed
;D
