Once again, carrying over a couple titles.
Dang, is football season over yet?
(Maybe after this week, for me at least... hahaha)

Ultimate Spider-Man #21
Ultimate Wolverine #10
Spider-Man: Noir #1

DC Universe Ultra
Absolute Batman #15
Legion #17

Hoopla/Other

Crux #4

Puppet Master (Jeff)
Brave and the Bold #33

********************************

Crux - Really enjoy this book. It is probably my second favorite after Negation... and cool that we see some of those very things here (Negation Bugs)

The First - And until Ruse begins, this is probably my second favorite title. Lots of names/powers/character traits to remember, but essentially it's gods (and junior gods) trying to find out what is going on with these new sigils. Good power struggle book

Spider-Man Noir - Wanted to read this because... well... I like pulp heroes (or almost anything set in the 20's and 30's) and this is ESSENTIALLY that. Art was very appealing to me eyes today, so I want to keep a look out for artist Andrea Broccardo... and I guess he also drew that Chasm mini that I almost read. Ha.

Ultimate Wolverine - Yay, Lins is back on art. It just makes the book so much more enjoyable for me. That aside... I felt a little like Brad Pitt on the last page ("What's in the box?") until I read the name... ahhhh. Ya know, as a kid, I loved when that character would show up as I thought he looked so cool. Now though, maybe because I am older, he does little for me. Not sad to see him go but... well, with the past in mind, I guess it is kinda sad... but more because I no longer care when I see the character, rather that what happened to a version of said character  ;)

Ultimate Spidey - Echoing Jeff here, who had a similar (if not exact) reaction after reading this, but yes, loved this issue!! I do so much like the idea of a shared Mephisto anyway, though it seems like something I would hate, haha, but damn the conflict here is so good. I don't want to concentrate on the conflict however... I don't want to be "Negative" (see what I did there?)
;D

Thor - Wow, did not expect to see... that guy.
Spoiler
Is this the split side like a Hulk/Banner situation or are they working in Donny Cates' Blake? Hmmm, I think that was resolved, actually, and didn't even think of that being an option until I started typing so, yeah, nevermind. Haha.
[close]
Still, that was cool

———————————————————————————————

Ultimate Wolverine #10 – A strong battle‑heavy issue. Things are definitely heating up.

X‑Men: Age of Revelation Overture #1 – Really enjoyed this one. If the rest of the event hits this level, it's going to be a great ride.

Legion of Super-Heroes #17 – A solid story with yet another character change.  I really enjoyed the individual member profiles in the back—always a fun touch.

The Brave and the Bold #33 – Just as good and heartfelt as I remembered. Still one of my all‑time favorite comics.

———————————————————————————————

Crux #4 – Fantastic art this issue; it practically tells the story on its own. This continues to be the series I look forward to the most each week.

The First #9 – Holy cow, this was awesome. I never expected the cliffhanger from Meridian #13 to pick up here, and it completely blew my mind. A great issue all around.

Sigil #14 – A solid wrap‑up to this arc, capped off with a surprise appearance by a member of the First.

Scion #14 – Another strong CrossGen arc comes to a close. Things have really hit the fan for these characters, and I'm excited to see where it goes next.

Meridian #14 – Ah‑ha! This picks up directly from The First #9. A great little mini‑crossover that really pulls the threads of these stories together.

CrossGen Chronicles #4 – Another strong prequel issue, this time focusing on Sigil. Pérez's art wasn't quite as sharp as I expected for this title, but let's be honest: Pérez on an off day is still better than 85% of artists out there.

———————————————————————————————

Absolute Batman #15 – A creepy origin story, exactly what you'd expect from the Absolute Joker. This is shaping up to be a wild ride.

Ain't No Grave Vol. 1 (Collects #1–5) – A solid Skottie Young book with an ending that felt inevitable, even if it still managed to surprise me.

Bug Wars Vol. 1 (Collects #1–6) – This turned out to be a lot of fun. I wasn't sold after the first issue, but it really took off by issue #3. The characters became more engaging, the buildup to war got more exciting, and some of the over‑the‑top bug moments genuinely made me laugh. Ended up enjoying this a lot.

Prog 2455 <- Forgot to add

********************************

Absolute Bats - A great way to introduce THE Bat villain. Loved how the last couple pages once again highlights the inverse of this world; the mansion, the butler, even down to him even using the clock to open the entrance to the cave... well, not THE cave  ;)

The First - We are starting to get some "connected universe" bleed over now, and I am all for it!!! This book hits close to real life as I have a friend that is just like Braag... he has an Ingra problem... he has a woman that just controls him like a puppet, that he can never say "No" to  :o

Crux - The last page really shows how many lives were effected by the flood. Again, just really love this title  :)

Sigil - On the flip side, we have this title. I have no idea why, but I just can't get into this, even with Waid now on the title and a much better artist in Eaton. I am going to try and give it a couple more issues, but I don't know. I do remember it was never a huge hit for me, but I kind of remember enjoying a little more than I am now  :-\

Brave and the Bold - Great issue!! I had never read this and was really enjoying the night out with the girls (I mean Barbara AND Zatanna? Yes please), and then I realized where we were going and "BAM". Yeah, a grand issue  8)

2000AD -
    - Judge story - Being dropped right into the middle of a story arc isn't always easy, especially when you are only given four or five pages to get gather the information you need to figure out what is going on, but this one worked. I know of Judge Anderson (the psi-cop kidnapped by Carver) and I know Judge Dredd (of course) but the rest of the cast... no idea. That said I left very intrigued by what I saw and look forward to continuing this story!!
    - Red Dragon story - A couple of things, this is a story featuring a Welsh hero, so... yeah, the names in the story are going to be wild. Ha. Names like "Angharad" and the like are not too familiar to us Colonials, heehee, and I was also a little confused by the B&W art in the middle of this story (I had thought we started a new story at first) but I left this little tale also interested in what is coming next. I will close by saying I really like the art in the B&W section.
    - Void Runners - No. Just no. I don't mind the feeling of being lost when you come into a story that you have never seen anything from before and I do like crazy, out of this world type stories (Brandon Graham's Prophet anyone?), but I think I really needed to be on the ground floor for this one. Not saying if I had read the first part of this story that I would have enjoyed it, but coming in late? I will pass on this one for the remainder of its stay. Hopefully done next issue?
    - Brass Sun - Neither good nor bad and I hope to get into more next issue. Art wasn't the best, and it has a Matrix aspect (that I won't spoil), but I am also fine with reading the next part of this one
    - Rogue Trooper story - Like Judge Dredd (though not as well known) this is another 2000AD/Rebellion Publishing staple. This story made it a little hard to differentiate between some characters, which was the point, but coming in cold like I did... I think it hurt the flow. I am still here for this one though as I like the old blue soldier

———————————————————————————————

Minor Threats Vol. 2 (Collects Issues #1–4) – That ending caught me off guard in the best way. A strong second volume that leaves me hoping for more.

Chariot  #1-5 - Knight Rider meets Christine...sort of.  I like this series. It's not anything you can't miss but if you like shows with high tech cars roaming the world like Kane in Kung Fu then this is for you.

2000 AD #2455 – "Crawl of the Wild" – A very British bit of anthology fun. Not every story landed for me, but the Judge Dredd installment is easily my favorite so far.

Legion - A fun issue, but man, that Brande stuff was rough, from a dialog standpoint. Such a turn seems... odd, yeah?  :)

Sword Reforged - Reprinting, in color, Savage Sword #15 (for some reason). I didn't care for the story when I read it way back when, and I'm still not a huge fan now. Alcala on inking duties always bugs me, so maybe that is what pushes me out of this story? Loved the first issue, but this one? Bah... skippable.  :P

Conan Scourge - Unfortunately, Hoopla missing issues is still... an issue, so I had to read the third issue elsewhere, but I tell ya, where Black Stone felt like a push JUST to get more Robert E. Howard players involved into the story, this seems like a much tighter and impactful mini and has actual purpose.  ;)

Spawn: Dark Ages - As much as I enjoyed the first issue, especially seeing Liam Sharp's art, this one brought me back down to Earth. Sad, but I didn't enjoy this nearly as much and in-fact I am now out. Love Spawn... and love the medieval setting even more, but this missed by a good bit  :-\

Escape - Another good issue that showcases how being from the same location does not translate to being in the same mind set. On a side note, I am wondering how this will read collected. I have enjoyed the monthly drop, but yeah, like most comics, I think this will read great once it is collected. Also, I think this title wins my "Cover of the week" (Only considering the books I have read) 8)

MARVEL

AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE - ok, I'm a bit curious to continue!!

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 13 - Peter in space! Pepe Larraz! I'll stick around for the ride, and I like Joe Kelly pushing the envelope at the end as well

DC

ABSOLUTE BATMAN 15 - Jock as a fill in; looking good! I loved the twist in the two page spreads when more info is learned

BATMAN & ROBIN  28 - 1st fill in artist I didn't care as much for, but still okay. Loved this issue's twist, and I caught the clues about it too!!

ACTION 1093 - Learning about Clark becoming more of a man with his powers and decision!

GLC 11 - feels like a filler issue, but some good movement with John coming for.

LEGION 17 - still cool stuff, getting new members in with the regulars, and just fun to see Qwislet Tellos, Magnetic Kid coming along and Sensor Girl! Glad Polar Boy is here too

hoopla

SKINBREAKER 2 & 3 = I love a little fantasy series that moves a peoples' life so much. LOVE seeing Finch do this!!

ROOK EXODUS 8 & 9 - spoiled myself on hoopla, Finch and Jason Fabok? I love this title, I enjoy reading it so much, and just love LOOKING AT IT
