Jeff has discussed the fact that the Marvel calendar has, once again, not been the most reliable from week to week and this week seems no different... so it appears... I think ;D . They are currently showing, with about 17 hours until this week's drops, that Uncanny X-Men #1 is hitting the MU tomorrow. As we have yet to see the newest issue of X-Men #1 (which hit the shops weeks prior to Uncanny), I am not sure I trust that this Uncanny will hit in the next few hours. No, no, no. ;) If it does, I will add it, but leaving it off for now.
Hey, more Big Two this week for me to read though

Hoopla Conan: Battle of the Black Stone #1?? Who knows what else ?? :)**********************************************************Uncanny - Wow, I enjoyed this a hell of a lot more than I expected to. For one, Gail Simone can be hit or miss for me (she hit this time for me) but I also wasn't too thrilled with the character list as I am not a huge fan of Gambit and Rogue. I know, I know. Then there was the fact that David Marquez was on art. Hey, his art can look stunning, as it does here, for most of the issue. He has a habit of making stuff look great for pages, but then slips into some weird facial stuff every now and then, but here, nothing that killed the issue for me.
Spoiler
I was worried at first as the initial villain we see in the early pages of this seemed a little... repetitive to me, but that's expected with the Big Two nowadays I suppose. I was also thinking that the Dragon part was a little over the top when I was reading it. No, not over the top, just... off, but I walked away from that part enjoying what I read all the same. Ended up liking it in fact
. Yes, an interesting beginning for this title!!
Blood Hunt - And the shoe finally dropped. Blah. I had a lot of fun with issue #1, issue #2 was less fun for me, but I still had Pepe Laraz's art to keep me going, now however, the art isn't enough to save this title for me. A two or three page Captain America speech, Blade's daughter, and even more boring ass MacKay writing has me throwing up my hands. Far too many Avengers in this book, and I stopped reading Avengers because MacKay bored me. This is just more of that. Nah :P
F.F - Damn tie-in issue broke the fun, but manly for one reason; the damn over-powering of characters. An aspect that I can't stand. Reed, who can now expand/stretch for miles? Okay, it wasn't miles, but city block after city block? While he... no... not even spending more time on the problems. Next issue is also a tie-in, so I will be skipping that one. I look forward to getting back to getting back to my FF with issue #23 :P
G.O.D.S - So we still don't know what the acronym stands for "yet" (?), and this issue had me a tad bit confused at first
Spoiler
(my own lost time and the characters it seems ;D )
. but it had a pretty good story. Even if it was squashed together. Best Marvel of the week, Hulk aside, but the bar was pretty damn low. Maybe that helped this issue? Perhaps, but I still enjoyed it and sad to see it go. Hope it returns.

G.O.D.S. 8 - shame Hickman had to rush the ending. Glad he got to wrap it up but it would have been fun to see how this developed. I enjoyed this but can see how the mainstream reader these days would be lost.
Strange Academy: Bloodhunt 2 - better than the first issue but still average. Enjoying it for the characters and I like the guest "ally".
X-Men: Heir of Apocalypse 1 - interesting premise and a pretty fun cast. Plus I like the unexpected appearance for the cliff hanger.
Uncanny X-Men 1 - Not a bad start. This could be a nice run after all the epic-ness of the past few years. I'm onboard for some more traditional X-stories.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD'S FINEST 30 - I simple one shot issue that I didn't find very interesting. Not a good issue to jump back onboard with.
Legion of Super-Heroes (1980) 265 - Another one shot that's not very good. It's the origin of Tyroc and not very interesting. May have been ground breaking in the day but it's a plot that has been retread so much now that it's hard to get interested.
So I came here to post what I read and saw that Jeff liked the Allwinter #2 issue, so I went ahead and added it, read it, and yeah, liked it. :)
I was thinking about adding that Bernie Wrightson "Web of Horror" collection that just popped up on Hoopla, but I did a quick preview and it isn't all Bernie stuff, so I think I will wait on that, but happy to see that Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees has been collected is now on Hoopla. I really enjoyed reading the first 3 issues, but decided to wait for the trade to finish off the story (back when I was using a lot of my borrows on other stuff ;D ). It was brutal to wait for the collection, but man... its here and I look forward to that puppy!!!
Also did decide to skip the Hulk issue, which I questioned if I was going to read it in the first place, thanks to Jimbo's... lack of enthusiasm with it.

Allwinter - Okay, I did enjoy the first issue, but for some reason I wasn't planning on coming back. But yeah, I'm in now. Damn it, Jeff ;D
Superman - Really enjoyed the art, but... okay... I guess it wasn't bad, but its just a standard tie-in comic. I could've skipped it and probably will skip the next issue.
867-5309 ;) - This was a good one. No idea what world we are on, it is Black Label so it could be DC proper, but I'm thinking
Spoiler
we have an alternate world here as I am thinking that those people that all end up in the bar are the Authority?
Maybe? A pure guess, and not a stretch by any means, but... either way, enjoyed this a good deal.
Titans - I am glad I took a chance a couple issues ago and jumped back into this title. This has been fun. And I soooo much more enjoy adult Raven!!
Nightwing - Speaking of being glad for "jumping" ;) back onto a title, This last arc is reminding me of the greatness this title used to be. Man, this is good stuff. Writing to art to coloring to lettering... a complete package.
"That's what she said" ;D
Worlds Finest - Uh-Oh. I think we may have a problem... this art is... I mean it isn't horrible, but if this is the new regular artist, I may be looking for the door. The art brought this (already not so grand) story way down
:(

Void Rivals Volume Two - This started out really hard to get through. So much so I was thinking of bailing on the title. Glad I didn't because it really picked up past the first issue or two. Hard to say exactly because the trade doesn't separate this issues so it reads like one long story. But it was worth reading once the main characters get to where they are running to. Which surprised me because the very thing I didn't care about (the tie in with Transformers) became the thing most fun about this volume. Now I want to know what happens next!

Well with the amount of readers it apparently had, there were not a lot of interested fans to punish ;D
They are leaving it for the next arc, if there ever is one. Big IF, but I think someone is trying to keep Hickman happy, keeping him on the hook. Of course that is all conjecture on my part.
