New week, almost the same list... but luckily, a tad shorter
;D

Marvel Unlimited
Ultimate Spider-Man #6
Thor #12
Thor Annual #1
Ultimate Black Panther #5
Phoenix #1
Namor #1
Doctor Strange (1974) #10
Mystic #3

DC Universe Ultra
Batman: Long Halloween - Last Halloween #1
Nice House by the Sea #2
Zatanna Bring Down the House #3
Zatanna Bring Down the House #4
Plastic Man No More #1
Legion of Super-Heroes #269 (1980)

Hoopla
?

**********************************************************

Phoenix - Meh, it's okay. I like the "idea" of the book more than the book, right now. However, I am hoping for a brighter future as I like where this COULD be going. This wasn't terrible, but... I am not a huge fan of writer Stephanie Phillips, so...

Namor - Loved the art (some will not), as it is a combination of Kev Walker, Sanford Greene and the (late, great) Keith Giffen. The story, by another great; Jason Aaron, was not as strong here. But much like with Phoenix, I am looking for a little better over the next couple of issues.

Had to add a couple more, of course, due to Hoopla Wednesday and me totally not seeing Absolute Power hitting this week
;)
Sadly, or luckily, for right now ;D, there are a couple more series that I have been wanting to try that recently dropped on Hoopla, but are still missing their first issues. Series like BPRD's John Arcudi's Convert, Kieron Gillen's Power Fantasy, Peter Warren's Tin Can Society will have to wait until Hoopla gets right and puts up their first issues. Again, for now, I'm happy to wait as I have plenty to catch up on.
;D

Marvel Unlimited
Ultimate Spider-Man #6
Thor #12
Thor Annual #1
Ultimate Black Panther #5
Phoenix #1
Namor #1
Doctor Strange (1974) #10
Mystic #3

DC Universe Ultra
Batman: Long Halloween - Last Halloween #1
Nice House by the Sea #2
Zatanna Bring Down the House #3
Zatanna Bring Down the House #4
Plastic Man No More #1
Absolute Power #4 <-- Added
Legion of Super-Heroes #269 (1980)

Hoopla
Conan #16
Rook #6
TMNT #3
Universal Monsters: Creatures from the Black Lagoon (Issues 1-4)

**********************************************************

Absolute Power - Pretty darn good.
Spoiler
Loved the resolution with G.A, how he was able to trick Waller with a timed mental implant. Loved how the powers were reset back to the heroes, love how some powers have not yet returned to some heroes and I think I love how some powers are in different characters now? Or at least I think I like that. Time will tell. I mean, it doesn't make sense, yet, how that would possibly work, but hey, comics! Right?  ;D Oh, and I also loved the Satellites return
[close]
;D

Zatanna - Javier Rodriquez's layouts are F'n incredible. He was so good on Daredevil, he killed on Spider-Woman and he is slaughtering on this. Just amazing work. The story is pretty good,
Spoiler
we find that Zatanna's dad Zatarra is one bad dude, a demon now in fact,
[close]
so I am excited for the resolution in the next issue.

Thor Annual - Pretty damn funny. Even though I am a little lost on the Infinity Stone story, in their current state and locations, I enjoyed this a good bit.

Old Dog: Operations One Shot - Good little anthology book with a handful of short stories to remind me who Old Dog is.  looks like another series is coming in 2025.

Hyde Street 1 - classic horror book.  Not usually my thing but the characters are interesting.  I'll stick around for awhile as it intrigues me.

LoSH - Actually, not a bad written issue, for a change (nothing great, but nothing horrid), but the art was pretty weak. Always enjoy seeing the Fatal Five, though the dialog they spout does get very repetitive after so many issues... they say the same thing each and every time  ::)
Spoiler
But still, not the worst issue and enjoyed seeing Gim's parents
[close]

Plastic Man - Okay, An interesting issue. It does show the League in a somewhat different light, but this is Black Label, so easily forgivable... it's not THE League. Yeah, I think I will keep going on this.

Thor - Oh boy, what a horrible issue this was. I still enjoy
Spoiler
the "In-Betweener Box" (Oblivion), and love that Tyr is coming back,
[close]
but far too much cryptic Norse speak and art that is extremely poor. These last two issues have just been dreadful in that regard. Luckily, a different artist is around the corner or I would be off this title with this issue. Really bad issue

Ult Black Panther - Hmmm...
Spoiler
what could that new material from that second meteorite be? I am really wondering? I have options going around in my head, but yeah... very interesting.
[close]

Ult Spidey - Wow, Kingpin. This series still seems a tad "off" to me. Not jumbled like a typical Hickman book, but more scattershot. It is good, but not really... progressing? No, that's not what I mean... I don't know... there is just something off is all.

Absolute Power 4  - Dangit. Should have read GA 16 first.  All well, it was still a good wrap up to this event.  Looking forward to the new status quo.

Green Arrow 16 - Tie-in to Absolute Power. Make sure you read it before Absolute Power 4. Good story and looking forward to next issues "fallout".

Titans 15 - Promos say major death. Rodney is right.  Not only is there no MAJOR character death...THERES NO CHARACTER DEATH AT ALL!  What a ripoff. It's the end of a Trigon arc so there's that but nothing here to get me back on board sadly.

Dare Devil: Woman Without Fear 1 - I liked it.  First issue setup but with a lot of action.  I'm in.

Immortal Thor Annual 1 - Typical Annual one shot story but I liked it.  It was actually kind of amusing.

Phoenix 1 - I'm in for this too.  Been awhile since I've read any cosmic Marvel stuff and this filled the gap so far.  Also like the cliff hangers.

Namor 1 - Another typical first issue setup issue.  I'm expecting more from Jason Aaron though.  Let's see how next issue goes and hoping that the flashbacks to his childhood are over.  I didn't find those interesting.

Nightwing #119 - Start of a new writing team. It's okay, not stellar. The new artist is really good. Definitely a change and more shadows.

I was thinking about getting back on, after my time with this last Taylor/Renaldo arc is over, but I didn't really miss the title while I was gone prior to the last arc (and only came back because Renaldo was on for the last issues), but do let us know if it picks up.
I also jumped back on Titans for a couple issues, around this same time, and I did enjoy it (mainly because Raven was Raven again), but not hearing great things about that either, so both titles seem like an easy walk away, for now. But the same holds true; let us know if this also picks up, yeah?
:)

EDIT - Oh yeah, for some reason the Long Halloween mini didn't hit DCU this week. So I scratched that off the list for now

TMNT #3
Universal Monsters: Creatures from the Black Lagoon (Issues 1-4)

**********************************************************

TMNT - This was another fun issue, but unlike the first two, I was left starting to feel like I missed something from the last run.
Spoiler
I knew going in that "something" had separated our turtles, but this issue made me question if I need to know now or if Aaron will recap. Hell, maybe them being separated wasn't how the last run ended, I'm just worry more now. But I think regardless we will find out soon
[close]
;D

Rook #6 - So this was the last issue for a couple months and... I don't know... while I truly do like the premise of this book, and thematically it is it's own thing, I find it is also very much akin in tone and meter to a lot of other Johns' stuff, especially Geiger. One thing that certainly makes them different from each other is how this title has characters whose motivation is all over the place. Just frustrating. I will still be back, don't get me wrong, again, I do enjoy "the idea" here, but I feel Johns has done so much better with less  :-\  Art is still amazing, so that helps  ;)

Conan - A great lil' four issue recap/reimagining/retelling of a classic Conan story. We get more insight to the great story here and that's pretty cool. Still enjoying this, but so excited for the next arc!!

Mystic - Man, this title is making me miss the CrossGen universe so damn much :'( I do hope Marvel uploads the other series soon however, hopefully the remaining three from the first wave, but especially the 'gods' like title 'The First' (that came about 5 months later), as I am only a few issue into this and I am already seeing aspects from that title. Good stuff though!!

Not that it would change your opinion of him, but his presence is the main reason I want Marvel to drop the other CG titles. But, no spoilers, even small
ones (I just deleted everything I just wrote, just incase)  ;D

Well, let's not go that far  ;) :)

I may get to it tonight, but I think I am going to go ahead and hold off on reading Nice House #2. If the third issue drops this week, I will want to read them back to back.

I may get a hair up my butt during halftime of the 9ers/Dallas game and knock it out tonight anyway

Creature - This was really cool. Although I say that as a huge Universal Monsters fan, and considering that, I think I would have enjoyed this regardless. Of course, having remembered the movie from when I was a kid helped, even though this is NOT a retelling of that, no no, it is a new take, and a good one, it helped with certain aspects of this story. Art was really cool. A mixture of Ryan Ottley, Scott Kollins and (Locke and Key's) Gabriel Rodriquez

Strange - Ohhhh, I'm gonna enjoy this! Cosmic Dr. Strange and art by Gene Colon? A great start with some Strange staples: Mordo, Nightmare, Eternity, Clea and more. Enjoyed this greatly. I think I was just in the mood for just this today. As for the next few issues... Bring it the hell on!!

Jeff is right about Batman & Robin Year One. Fun start and I think I will continue reading it.
