Hey Rodney, try it now

Wahoo! Thanks, Perry!

Gay Titan

#17
DC Pride Uncovered #1... picked up the Apollo & Midnighter variant for a friend.
Outsiders #8... it's two-thirds done. Might as well stick it out.
Thundercats #5... still going strong.
X-Men Heir of Apocalypse #1... Just checking out the first issue to see who the players are.

Not sure why but quite of few of the Marvel titles have a Skottie Young variant this week.

That's even weirder.  I'll see if I can figure that out.

Perry - your issue is not happening to me unless I try to quote one of your posts.

Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes (1977) 242 - Like Perry said, good issue! The continuation of the coming war with most of my favorite Legionaries spotlighted. Wildfire, Dawnstar, Element Laf, Brainiac 5, Mon-El, and Ultraboy!  The backup story had Dreamgirl, Projectra, and Shadow Lass - three more of my favorites even if the story was bland.

Thundercats #5 - New artist and not the best. Loved the previews to both the new Cheetara series as well as Johnny Quest.

Newburn, Volume 2 - once I got past issue 10 I couldn't stop reading.  Pretty much finished the whole book in one day.  And it was great.  Brought all of the secret threads together into an excellent satisfying end.  I recommend Newburn for all those crime story loving fans.

Spoiler
Loved how the "reporter" worked her way in only to be destroyed by Emily. And while not overly entangled with the "main" story/crime/plot, I didn't expect the mom to be involved like she was. Got me. Ha.

LoSH - Again, I do prefer Levitz' in longer form, but I am still not a huge fan of his stuff. Even giving consideration to "70's writing style" I sometimes struggle with his jarring transitions and overall depiction of characters (almost everyone seems the same, save for the different powers). All that said, I was able to enjoy this, mostly for the end and the "guest" stars :)  but yeah, I was able to have fun here. Plus we are only three more issues away from where I, with my old drug riddled brain, remember actually buying the issues of Legion (I so remember that Sun Boy cover from #246 but the art from inside is a total blank (which means I will hate it  ;D ). I am excited to revisit this title from that point on, to see if and how my fondness for those issues and that time changes. Again, I will probably hate the entire run... at least until Giffen enters as those I know I enjoy  ;D

Duke - First off, if anyone is interested in the Kirkman revamp of Transformers and G.I. Joe (and another title ;) ), you should read the Transformers first. I didn't, and even though I was not lost in this Duke mini, I do feel that the first volume or six issues of Transformers hit the stands first and contains information that was seen in flashbacks here... or I assume at least. As for this... meh.
But I'm not the biggest Joe fan (though I bought, read and enjoyed the first 20 issues or so of Marvel's original G.I. Joe with Hama when it first hit the stands) and the Transformers were not really of my time (though I remember my brothers having the toys and watching the cartoon) and as I never read their comics, I have little interest in them as well, but Kirkman... ya know? I have to give it a shot to see what goes on. At least for a little while. I give this a five out of ten, an average mini. Fans will love it more as it does have a lot of call-backs and name drops  :)

Avengers - Decent 70's set-up story with good Perez art. Art that is blasted by the vile Vinnie Colletta's dreadful inking (and omitting of items inside the panel he didn't want to ink ::) ) But here, The Squadron Supreme arrive, and it is explained that the last time we saw this group (Avengers 69 or so), that they were called Squadron Sinister, not Squadron Supreme, so yes, this is a DIFFERENT team and (to semi-quote Cap)
"...though they look similar, [Sinister] were actually from a parallel dimension"
Okay, but what gets me is that in that team, Hawkeye disguised himself in the Squadron Sinister as The Golden Archer. So there was no Golden Archer, it was just Hawkeye. But to explain why there is a Golden Archer in this Squadron (when there shouldn't be... Hawkeye was only a spy and, again, not a team member), this Squadron's Golden Archer says "On my world, I was called Hawkeye, but here I had to avoid confusion [so I changed my name]"
What?
So you changed your name from Hawkeye to Golden Archer solely because you were coming to this dimension and you wanted to avoid confusion? Thanks so much for caring, there Archer. Or G.A. if you prefer
:)
