Strange - Art is well done, very well done, I like the composition of most of the panels, it's just not for my eyes, sadly. Plus I prefer a darker toned "mystic book". I fear that lack of visually pleasing aesthetics (lack of tonal fit and cartoon art), interfered with the story for me

Absolute Batman #18... Poison Ivy part deux. Meh. The art was just off. But it wrapped up nicely.
DC KO #5.... I skipped this event and my buddy at the LCS gave me a variant cover. The story itself was okay but the epilogues and last few pages were AMAZING!


Sidenote... I read the weekly free newspaper (CSN Insider) and this week's feature on the new Firestorm series revealed it's only a 6-issue mini-series. I was hoping for an ongoing.

Spent the week downtown with the wife so didn't get anything read until the weekend hit.  Here's what I did accomplish today though.

Amazing X-Men #3 (of 3) - Best quote ever..."Glob. Stop killing people."  Glob as the punisher like bad ass of the future is hilarious. Good issue leading up to the final battle coming up in the finale.

Binary #3 (of 3) - An ok ending. Basically Binary and Phoenix vs Madeline Pryor. Decent enough end battle though a little too much about feelings.

Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #3 (of 3) - Meh. the idea was interesting but the writing was stale.  Moving on.

Ultimate Universe: Two Years In #1 - That was terrible.  Not the Ultimate Guardians of the Galaxy I had hoped for.

THE NICE HOUSE BY THE SEA #7 (OF 12) - Still bizarrely interesting but sooo slow. At least things are finally coming to a head.

Legion of Super-Heroes #26 - End of this arc with the new Fatal Five.  I don't care for the new members of the five.  Bring back the originals.

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN 2026 ANNUAL #1 (ONE SHOT) Nice one shot story. I'm not into the touchy feely stuff right now but I won't criticize this one. It was well written and the art was cool.

Savage Sword of Conan: Reforged #2 - I enjoyed this story of a magical city and mesmerized monsters. A lot of fun.

2000 AD Prog 2460: Dire Warnings - What a great issue. The new Dredd story has some great painted art. Rogue Trooper had some cool battles. Brass Sun had a great unexpected twist. And Red Dragon had an amazing unexpected end that brought the two time periods together in a very cool way.

2000 AD Prog 2461: Hit Squad - Dredd: art was still good. Story sets things up for more to come.  Rogue Trooper: good underwater adventure. Deadtown: New story about zombies integrating with society and a murder investigation! Brass Sun: wrap up of this arc but only sets things up for more to come.
