Hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day.

Another soft Big Two week for me, thankfully, as I'm still hoping to recharge a little and catch up on some Crossgen. Of course even though I didn't add it to this week's list (yet), I may give that current Knull title a try. I know he is Jimmy's favorite    but I liked what I read of him a few months (years?) back and I just checked the interior art of this current series and yeah, I think I may add that to the rotation soon. Also, and I hate to admit this, but I am also pulled towards that Uncanny X-Men issue, only because I am still, to this day, a sucker for that sucker named Morbius. Of course I think that if I were to ever watch the Morbius movie, I would be cured of that particular affliction    But as I have refused to give that movie even one second of my time, I think I am safe. As for what I am trying to read this week? Well, for now...

Looks like the tables have turned and Perry will be ahead of me for a minute on 2000 AD! 😁. I have read the first story, Judge Dedd and the first two issues of the Altrnates so I'm not too far behind from last week.

Ultimate Spider-Man #24 - Good finale for this series. Definitely was the best Ultimate series.

ZATANNA #1 - This is not for me.  I have no doubt others will find this fun and exciting to look at, but (as much as I like Zatanna) it's too muddled for my old man brain. I'm out.

The Alternates Vol 1 (Collects issues #1-4) - A little disappointing.  Kind of a trippy adventure that wasn't terrible but I think I expected more.

Crux - New writer Chuck Dixon takes over and hey, can't say I really noticed a change! And that's a good thing. Still lovin' this series

Hyde Street - Oh man... that sucks. Good issue but... dang. Looking forward to the next couple issues for sure. I've always liked this, but man, this is getting a lot better.

Swamp Thing - So glad I finally got a chance to read this. The last four issues of Vietch's run, that was canceled before it hit the stands, now out for all to read. I can see why DC pulled this, but I thought it was fantastic. Not for everyone, for sure, so I do get why they were a little too worried to put this on the stands, back at the time it was set to hit. 

Zatanna - This was fantastic! Hahaha, okay, just joking. This was fine. A typical Jamal Campbell Zatanna start. Leaning heavy into the idea and a little all over the place, but it sets up the series and I am sure will settle down a little next issue. The non-Zatanna character design work could've used a little editor assist, but I like the idea of Z's new role and look forward to seeing where this goes.

Ult Spider - A great, fantastic end to this run. A happy Peter is an odd thing to think about... ha... even more odd to see typed ... but I am more than happy to see it happen. Yay!! (I bet that happiness doesn't last once the Ultimate line returns)
