Marvel:

Imperial Guardians 1 - it was fine, but feels like it was done before. The. same. way.

Venom 258 or -9: part 2 of Death Spiral. A little nicely twisted, actually with the roles of Peter, MJ, Eddie, Venom and Carnage dealing with each other. Peter still insisting on not killing/destroying Carnage symbiote is so F***ING DUMB; it's not a person, its a thing! it's not a part of culture or redeemable! It's killing a stinging wasp! SUCH DUMB WRITING!!!

Absolute Batman #21
Absolute Flash #16
Absolute Green Arrow #2.... the first issue is back with a second printing as well.
Batman-Superman: World's Finest #52
Deathstroke #4

Not that I am buying it, but DC put out the Dark Crisis omnibus at the unreal price of $87.95.

Gay Titan

Superman Unlimited #14... NOT the twist I expected but LOVE it! I almost like Damian in this title.

I finally got started on this week's comics. Turned into a busy week.

Legion of Super-Heroes #39 - interesting twist on Colossal Boy's origin.

Rook Exodus #10 - Good issue. Absolutely love the art in this book.  I really wish it came out more regularly.

Nemesis Rogues Gallary (Collects issues 1-5) - I don't know how Mark Millar sleeps at night writing people this horrible as the main character.  An incredible rebirth after what happened to Nemesis in the big crossover. And he's become even more despicable. And it's just getting started. Can't wait to read the next volume.

The Path Prequel, #1 & #2 - Wow. This was amazing. I had almost forgotten how this started in the First so long ago.  This could become my new favorite Crossgen series!

Crux #13 & 14 - Good start to a new arc. I'm intrigued by the new characters and the secret Danik is about to reveal.

2000 AD Prog 2474: Circuit Breaker
Judge Dredd - Getting close to closure. I like the two villains and one is almost done. Good story.
Future Shocks - Nice one shot with a good twist.
The Discarded - Also close to finishing. Good chapter with father and daughter vs the chip.

Glad you dug it!! 8)
Back when I read this, when it first hit, I was still not a fan of Bart Sears art, so I didn't have the same reaction. ;D  I was (am) able to read The First more easily than his other stuff (like Blade and... whatever other titles I saw his art in at the time, ha), because the theme fits his art style, for me. With The Path being Japanese based, I think I wanted less exaggeration and more ninja like slenderness. But I'm wiling to give it another go.

2000AD - Judge Dredd - I only read the Dredd story from these last two issues and they were okay. Nothing grand, but enjoyable. I liked how it "ended". A satisfying, though not spectacular end to my 2000AD read. Going to have to dive in the Dredd collected stuff now, to get to the good meaty stories  :)

Sojourn - Good close to the second arc (or first arc I guess) and issue 12 was a nice filler issue with a cool, albeit a little too cute of an ending. :)  Art was a little rough in some panels, just some (faces were wildly distorted) but it was overall decent enough for the story :)

Odin - Okay, I think there is a god that may be a little pissed at these Nazi bastards.  :D

Redcoat - Uh-Oh, Simon has a quest now. Don't see it being a happy ending, but... fingers crossed.

Battle Beast - First off Ryan Ottley has never, ever... never, ever, ever... done better at his art duties. The amount of fun and interesting things he crams into each panel is amazing. His layouts are once again incredible. My favorite two issues of this series from an art point of view and the story isn't far behind. Mainly because it isn't just fighty-fight here. I think I am liking this just as much as I ever did Invincible

Conan - Speaking of fighty-fight... yes, essentially, that is what this three issue arc is about, but I have enjoyed this mini arc so much. I enjoyed getting the intro... to the king... last arc, but this one was so much fun for me!!

Abs Green Arrow - Other than not being able to stop myself from trying to find Blue Devil's mask in this G.A design (no idea why I keep seeing it... it's not there Perry, stop it) I enjoyed the hell out of this first issue. Good art, good story, and once I get over trying to see what is not there, I think I will like it even more.  ;D

I did not.  Good to know!

Not sure if they're on your reading list, but the new DD series and Storm are good reads.

Not a great week for Marvel.

1776 #5 (OF 5) - If you skipped this you missed nothing. It really wound up being pretty bad.

IMPERIAL GUARDIANS #1 - Hmmm. This was ok. It's a first issue setting things up but had some pretty good action.  I'll stick around for the next issue and see if it pulls me in.

LOGAN: BLACK, WHITE & BLOOD #3 (OF 4) - Not as good as the previous issues. This one is skippable.

MAGIK & COLOSSUS #2 (OF 5) - I'll probably get the next issue but I'm not enjoying this as much as I should given my love of Magik.

X-MEN UNITED #1 - I lost interest by page 16. I'm out.

Of The Earth - Okay, this was nothing like a Walking Dead book, other than the art, which I admit, did make me feel it was going to be about walkers. It is something else, but... well, kind of a Texas Oil Twilight Zone book, but it isn't solely a Condon Texas Oil Twilight Zone book. He is writing issues 1,3,5 while his "buddy" writes issues 2,4 and co-writes 5 with him (I think that is the correct division of labor). While his "buddy's" writing isn't bad, I did notice the difference. It wasn't quite as good as Condon, it was noticeable, though again, not bad. Not sure I can put this in the "recommend" category because of that writing difference... and the fact the story isn't amazing, but I may finish it up.

Gotham Central - Now, you want to talk about a hell of a writing tandem... how's about Greg Rucka and Ed Brubaker, huh? Only one issue in but this puppy surely holds up. Okay, it isn't THAT old, It isn't like reading an early 80's comic and saying that it "still holds up", I know, but almost 25 years is still a good bit. But this is a set of writers that know how to write and are fan favs for a reason. I think this series was mostly Brubaker's anyway, but either way, with Michael Larks pencils, this book could easily be put out today, even at the $4.99 price, and it would sell. Yeah, glad I dipped my toes back in. And with 2000AD off my list now, I think a spot opened up for me to continue this series once again.
