Funny, just glancing at the last couple of weeks with the Marvel offerings, and there is no wonder why I am not getting in a lot of MCU reading. I mean, sure, they have a couple decent to "okay" writers, but there is also a lot of mediocre and "Who the hell is that?" ones as well:

Williamson and Johnson probably lead the pack, for me, with Camp hitting pretty strong at times... oh and Kelly Thompson as well, but she's writing that kids Jeff comic, so not counting that, but then most writers, again, for me, are ranging from "okay, sometimes" to "meh" to "boring as hell"

North
Duggan
MacKay
Percy
Simone
Kelly
Jenkins
Seeley
Sacks
Paknadel?
Ayodele?
Landy
Loeb
Kennedy?
Hoser
Quinn?
Trujillo?

Who wouldn't be pulled into trying every comic from that list?  :o

And do NOT get me started on the massive amount of artistic talent currently employed at the "House of Ideas". That list is abysmal.
So yeah, another no Marvel week for me

DETECTIVE COMICS #1111 - Nice twist! I'm really liking this arc and hope this team-up continues beyond it.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD'S FINEST 2026 ANNUAL #1 (ONE SHOT) - Good father story with Pa Kent and Alfred. I skipped the backup story.

THE PERIL OF THE BRUTAL DARK: AN EZRA CAIN MYSTERY #6 (OF 6) - Decent wrap up to this story arc. I'd read more of Ezra Cain's adventures.

Gotham Central 1 & 2 - Good start to this series. Who doesn't love a good Mr Freeze tale & being told from the police eyes instead of Batman is fun.

CYCLOPS #5 (OF 5) - In the end, I liked this mini. Was it great? Nah. But it was entertaining and I enjoyed it.

WADE WILSON: DEADPOOL #5 - Fun ending to a fun first arc.  Not sure if I'll stick around as my tolerance of Deadpool has a limit. But this was good.

WHAT IF...? UNCANNY X-MEN #1 - started out really good then lost me when it went apocalyptic.  Too bad to as I was enjoying it.

X-MEN OF APOCALYPSE #4 (OF 4) - I thought this was the finale but there's an "Omega" issue. Bummer because I was ready for this to wrap.

ABSOLUTE BATMAN #23 - Another good insane bat issue.  I love the changes in the Absolute versions of this rogue's gallery.

FURY OF FIRESTORM #5 (OF 8) - Loved it. Very good journey between past and present with a bit of a twist ending.

THE NICE HOUSE BY THE SEA #11 (OF 12) The pen-ultimate issue. I liked this issue quite a bit and it's interesting to see how things have gone. Of course, next issue promises to be really crazy.

That is what I really enjoyed about this series. Not only is it featuring the boys in blue instead of the Bat, while still showing direct connections with the villains of said Bat, the villains are also not the main aspect of the story. I mean they are, in essence, but the story is more "cause and effect" driven, results of the villains action, rather than just Batman hunting down the bad guys. Really enjoyed this run and while I kicked myself for waiting so long to read through it, I found I was happy I waited, because this hit me perfectly at the perfect time for me to be hit by it
;D ;D

Somehow I forgot to type out Abso Bats, even though it was on my list
::)
Fixed that

Death Vigil - I really like this artist (Stjepan Šejiç) and I just saw were vol 2 of this series just started with a new #1, so I was hoping this would be another title for me to get excited for, but while I still enjoy the art style, Stjepnan is also doing the writing, and there is the problem. I do remember liking his writing well enough on his Sunstone title (which was more sexual in nature), here it didn't hit as well for me. Nothing bad, but mostly run of the mill and I am trying desperately to stop reading that kind of comic. So yeah, not reading the current run now  :'(

Odin - The story of an investigative reporter working undercover inside a group of Norse god worshipping neo-Nazis, has us guessing if everything here is in the collective minds of those involved (after they all ate some kick-ass mushrooms) or are they (and their warped ass ideology) actually in touch with those very mythological gods they worship. And what does this reporter do to get her scoop. I've enjoyed this gruesome story, but it's not yet on my recommend list as I think I enjoy this more than most would  ;D

Infinite Crisis - A reread before I start my 52 read through. Just a refresher, but oh so pretty. (I still can't stand Superpunk Prime though)  >:(

Firestorm - It is so good to be reading a Jeff Lemire DC comic that I actually enjoy. Been a long time, but this one is worth it!!  8)

Bats & Robin - Hmmm, seems this might just be a story based on a different "duo" than we were expecting. Good story here, as Waid knows how to write THIS Robin so damn well and Chris Samnee's art? Incredible. Yep, so down for this next chapter in the Year One Universe  :)

Abso Bats - Yeah, this issue was good and has me adding that Clayface mini.  :D

EDIT -
You guys have to let me know if I should try and read that huge ass " Bad Seeds" Poison Ivy story happening across the Bat titles. I don't mind Ivy (except for the horrible Absolute version of the character), but not sure I want to read across the 17 or so tie-in issues (which I highly doubt I would do) nor even start the 7 main issues. But if it is good... I may reconsider
;)
