——————————————————————————————————

Legion of Super-Heroes #310 - Well what do you know, this end to what I thought was a terrible arc was pretty darn good!  I enjoyed this big finale quite a bit!  And that cliff hanger! I don't remember that at all but WOW! This is huge!

Negation 2 & 3 - Wow this is so good.  I wish comics today were still like this!  The entire universe of characters are so fun to read - both the heroes and the villains.  Can't believe I only have 8 issues of this in hand!

X-Force #9 - X-MANHUNT Part SIX - OH HOLY HECK YEAH!!! This was completely worth the journey so far.  I am so stoked for the big twist in this issue and what it means for the future.  Mind blown!

Exceptional X-Men - X-MANHUNT Collateral Damage - BOOO! Just a gimmick to get you to buy this issue. This literally has nothing to do with the crossover except for one page where Iceman tells everyone that he saw on the news that Xavier is on the run.  That's it - zip.  The rest of the book is just setup for this comics next arc. While I like the villain reveal, I care nothing for any of these new characters. The great villain just wasn't enough to get me to pick this title up.

ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2 - Mixed feelings on this one.  There were parts I really liked - I.e. Valeria, Ben Grimm. But a lot I didn't like - the reveal on the last page for example.  And I really hate political preaching in my comics even when it's fictional like it is here.  Still, there's enough to like to keep me in so I'm back for more next week.

Good, I didn't mind the last issue, so I am hopeful I will enjoy this one even more. If not, it's all your fault  ;)  ;D

Quote from: Jeff on Jun 23, 2025, 05:12 AMNegation 2 & 3 - Wow this is so good.

That issue #2 is literally the comic that got me, not only buying every CrossGen comic I could find, but also got me back into comics in general. So glad you dug it  8)

I was looking for the spoiler tag and there isn't one!! Don't leave us in suspense!!  ;D

Quote from: Jeff on Jun 23, 2025, 05:12 AMExceptional X-Men - BOOO!

Ah yes, the ole "lets banner this issue as part of something, even though it has nothing (or minuscule amounts) to do with what the banner is telling the buyers!" trick. Bastards!  >:(

Quote from: Jeff on Jun 23, 2025, 05:12 AMONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2 - Mixed feelings on this one.

The political nature of this book is why I am not reading it. NOT that I think that it can't be done well, but only that, having read Ryan North, I just don't think he is the best choice to bring that story to us. Anymore than I would most Marvel writers currently on "pay"roll  :-\  :(

As for me, I don't know how, but I totally just flat out forgot about reading Absolute Flash last week. I had thought I was done with my list (not counting the Marvel back-issue reads) and I damn sure would have read it yesterday had I remembered the damn thing. Ha, Oh well, I'll make sure to hit it this week
;D
And I see Hoopla has dropped the first trade of Remender's Seasons, so I will grabbing that one even though I have just recently read the first two issues. I was going to add issue #3 to this week's list anyway, so why not get that #4 included in the same borrow, yeah?
;D
Oh, and keeping it somewhat light this week as I have to get on my Marvel back issue reads, though I may make a change to that soon
;) ;)

**************************************************************

Black Panther - Kind of a further set-up issue, and it is very weird seeing Killmonger in this manner, haha, but also kinda digging the new threat and looking forward to seeing where that last page goes

Gay Titan

I didn't know Mr. Terrific was a Darkseid tie-in. I am enjoying All In and may have to check it out.

That is my understanding, but double check, maybe flip through some pages, before throwing down that green. I would hate for that not to be the case and you pay for something that isn't there.

Okay, just read the issue. It is good, but not Darkseid related. I mean, a little, of course, as DC is currently, but not what I would consider Darkseid adjacent. Save your money if that is your main attraction to the title

Ab Flash - Not a bad issue, maybe the best yet, but... man, I don't know. Still here, and while I am not sure what it is that I want from this title, I do know it isn't giving it to me yet. But that is on me, maybe. Haha

Ab W.W - Okay, a very interesting start to a new arc. And that art... just... yeah!!!!

Ab M.M - Okay, a very interesting continuation of this (recently announced) first arc. And that art... just... yeah!!!  ;D

Mister Terrific - Better than I thought it would be, as I am NOT a fan of the character, so I am here for the next issue

Legion - Yep, agree. A pretty decent ending to this arc. And hey, Jan, about damn time. Too bad you left it up to the chick to make the move, coward  ;)

legion 309-310 - cool writing of all the side stories going on, and that development. Prophet & Omen were lame, but what an ending with bringing back back an old Legion member!

Okay...here we go...

SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #1 - you think I would be displeased with Slott's writing, right? Nope, it's Albuquerque's art. It's loosely him, as he progresses through his style. Reminds of Frank Miller on his final Sin City books and such. I don't like any face seen, perspectives of anatomy and foreshortening are poor. Just...ugh.
Also, I want kryptonite to mean something. Perhaps this secret that kept Superman from dying being that close to a meteor of Green K is why he didn't die. But still....

New gods 6 - so...I liked that goofy art. :)  I liked the pre-lim sketch look of it all.

B & R Year One 7 - just a cool & continued engaging mini series. Looking forward to the eventual Jason Todd year one! I really am!

Wonder Woman 21 - Tom King is just a great WW writer. Loved this little murder mystery-which actually has some huge future implications!

Batman & Robin 21 - oh man, I do love this book. I Really do. PKJ just gives me a great, long form written story that really humanizes Bruce and Damian. I love it!

Flash 21 -this is so damned weird, but I'm suddenly here for it! IT's insane! lol

World's Finest 39  & JLU 7 - had to read them back to back. I am....wishing for better artists, but man, weird shit is going on all over!! :D

#9
MARVEL

One World under Doom 2 - this is dumb. Plebian writing of government work and progress. Simplified to fit inside a 20 min cartoon or a coloring book, but just appears stupid here. Hopefully the tease for issue 3 to show how Doom got control and maintains it will help.
Also, why doesn't Valeria call him Uncle Victor? She has in the past.

Deadpool 12 - d'oh! I forgot it was still crossing over with Miles Morales Spider-man. Skippable.

Amazing Spider-Man 69 - it's still going with the Cytorrak story

X-men 14 - cool Quentin Quire moment!!
(pages through X-factor 9 -poor art)

So, 2 weeks, 4 books only...and rather lack luster in all of them. Oh well...

**************************************************************

Savage Sword - I think... I THINK... a total original tale of Conan (as much as thy can be), as I don't remember this adventure. Even if I would've forgot the story, I don't think I would have forgotten this being with a certain co-star. But it was pretty cool seeing the duo at it again. Written and Drawn by Patrick Zircher... the Zirch... haha, and as I stated, I enjoyed the story, but honestly, this art... I have never seen Zirch looking better. Amazing work, so much more cleaner his usual, current style, but also still brutal. This issue, over all, as typical a Conan story it is, was pretty darn good. The back-up story was... a nice look into that world

Phantom Road - Super quick read, as these always are and while a lot didn't happen, it also did ;D . It moves the story forward but man, super quick

Legion - Enjoyable issue, mainly because of the Brianiac parts. ;)  Kinda of weird to have
Spoiler
Invisible Boy reappear last issue and not use him other than to run away
[close]
;D but still, I liked the issue overall. I even liked the Back-Up story, though I made a joke earlier than may seem to denote otherwise. Haha

Hellblazer - Rough, rough couple of issues. Still dealing with controlling Gabriel, but one of Constantine's mates gets his face cut to ribbons and it looked... amazing  :) (Only in an artistic manner)

Green Lantern - I like "the conflict" here, but I still feel that this title could use some streamlining. I love comic chaos, but...

CABLE: LOVE AND CHROME #3 - Had a hard time remembering what was going on in this series.  Still a little confused but the events occurring in this issue were ok. For a Cable fan it's interesting but I don't see this pulling in any new readers.

TVA #4  - Was losing interest in this book but it turned midway through and the ending cliff hanger finally moved the story somewhere fun.  I think this mini could finish strong now.

MAGIK #3 - Another one with a boring beginning but a promising end. I'm seeing a theme this week.

ABSOLUTE MARTIAN MANHUNTER #3 (OF 12) - I think I'm out. There's nothing bad here it's just not for me at this time.  Maybe I'll come back to it later.

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #8 - Great start to the new arc and I like the new character (villain?).

BATMAN #160 - Another just ok issue.  If it wasn't for the Jim Lee art I might not make it through.

GREEN LANTERN #23 - Decent issue though I'm not sure I'm buying that Hal would win that fight.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: UNLIMITED #7 (WE ARE YESTERDAY part 5) - Another ok issue. Only one issue left of the crossover. Will it change the past?

MR. TERRIFIC: YEAR ONE #1 (OF 6) - This was good!  I'm All In!

SUPERMAN #26 - Good issue.  I'm actually enjoying these issues of Superman and looking forward to the coming conflict with the evil Legion!

PEACEMAKER PRESENTS THE VIGILANTE EAGLY DOUBLE FEATURE #3 (OF 5) + I flipped through the Vigilante story since I already decided last issue it was bad.  The Peacemaker story was pulling me in but after reading this it's just not enough to keep me. I'm out.

ADDED: Legion of Super-Heroes #311 - Good wrap up of the Computo story and so glad the Wildfire/Dawnstar backup ended with hope!
