Last month, the owner of my LCS passed away after a battle with colon cancer. Before he died, he had planned a huge sale to empty his basement of his personal collection of comics, action figures, D&D and Magic cards. The proceeds went to his wife.

Today was that sale. It was a huge memorial, auction, and back issue sale. I picked up:

Amethyst (1983) #4, 5
Batman #436, 438, 441 & 442
Crisis on Infinite Earths #2, 3, 5
Flashpoint #1
Justice League of America #235
Red Hood and the Outlaws #16
World's Finest Comics #308
Uncanny X-Men #186, 187
Teen Titans: Future's End #1
Ultimate X-Men #61

Sorry to her about his passing Rodney. Nice that you were able to pick up some good issues to help his family.

2000AD Prog 2470
Judge Dredd - Art is very flat, but kinda cool once you settle in. Fun stuff. And like Jeff said, this will come back around soon!!
Herne & Shuck - Herne should've probably known what was going on and pushed the wheel chair a mile down the road before starting. Ha
Judge Dee - Love a haunted house, but feel a little disconnected not being familiar with some characters. I like this though.
2000AD Prog 2471
Judge Dredd - Art in this new story is a little rough, at the start, but my eyes adjusted. And love the name of the main villain. Ha
Herne & Shuck - Ohhh, sneaky little bastard. And love that last panel
Judge Dee - Man, I do love the idea of this, but this was the least "fun" chapter of this story for me
Terror Tales - Meh, a typical small press short story. Decent, but nothing spectacular
Discarded - I'm not reading this, but I want to. Not sure why it didn't hit for me. Looks good and interesting, just... I don't know. I will try again one day, when it is (hopefully) collected.

Alien/Cap - A good "end" to the story  ;) but I am still amazed at how Cap avoided all the acid blood time and time again. All that said, this was enjoyable as hell and looking forward to more!!!

CYCLOPS #1 (OF 5) - Not bad. Looks like Scott is going up against our old frien Donald Pierce and his new Reavers.

PLANET SHE-HULK #4 - Jack of Hearts!  Ggeat fight issue and that ending is really gonna escalate things!

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #19 - Not bad but I'm ready for this arc to be over.

Abso WW - This was enjoyable, but I'm a huge Zatanna fan, so I admit to being a little bias right from the jump when it comes to her, however... this arc seems very repetitive with what has come before... and before that. Maybe it is just a feeling I am getting and not actuality true, but I don't know.

Brutal Dark - After the first issue I was super stoked for this, then the second issue hit and the writing was a little bit different as for how it hit for me, but then this issue hit... ugh. I like Chris Condon just fine, but this was a poorly written issue. The pacing is off, the flow is lacking, dialog is very out of rhythm and unfledged, it just didn't read well for me. And what is with the letterer? I don't mind changing up text in a comic, not at all, but there needs to be a reason. I mean there is no logic as to why some speech is in text balloons while other times it is not (I like it when they use that style for showing readers the characters are whispering, or using a sexy voice... to show some different inflection or whatever, but that is not the case here) There seems to be no reason for the lack of balloons in some panels (is it just space?) and the text size and style changes that go on here also kind of bug me. But I'm losing myself... the text work here isn't close to being as bad as that one Flash issue that was totally distracting and ludicrous with its text style... so putting that text nitpick aside, the main issue or problem for me was the writing. Now, I am still here for this, but maybe only for one more issue?

Red Roots - Another issue that was not the best at first, including a ridiculous panel where an ax is in a guys back, but the handle is the wrong way up, and after seeing that I just knew that after one or two more pages, I was going to be out. Gone before I even finished. But damn it, I kept getting intrigued and kept turning those pages and getting more and more curious as to what is going on. It seemed pretty straight forward in the beginning, until it didn't, and then it shifted again until that last panel... then it went totally off the rails. I have no idea where this is going or what the hell is going on, but I am all over this one
