The Cloudfire outage has my DC page down (showing the Ultra releases for this week), so I am somewhat guessing for DC here. May change a tad, but for now, I only see one for me.

Okay, just tried to upload that picture of Jimmy's pick for this week, but it seems cloudfire also controls the site I use to throw up pics, so that is also down. Haha

My current favorites are Blue Falcon and Dynomutt and Batman and Robin (the series, not the year one maxi).

Starman - Ahhh, a nice look back. I read this series waaay back when (not when it originally came out, mind you) and enjoyed it so much that I became of fan of Robinson's writing from this series. No idea what happened, because after this series, I didn't really enjoy anything Robinson wrote. He became choppy in his writing, his dialog (which is pretty tight in this issue) felt childish as hell and... yeah, I think his addiction (sex/drink) may have really screwed him up. Cost him his wife around the same time, so that surely had an impact. All that said, my favorite part about this issue will always be the b&w story with the small color splashes of the old JSA characters. Good stuff.  8)

New Gods - I personally loved this. I wasn't the biggest New Gods fan when I was younger, and they have always been... a little "off" for me (even though I have enjoyed them greatly when proper writers take the helm... such as the case here, for me) But as time goes on, I found I am really into the lore that Kirby created. For this issue,
Spoiler
I loved the intro to this Black Racer (essentially the Grim Reaper), I enjoyed the illusion work making Akala think he was fighting Mad Harriett when he was really taking on Wonder Woman, Gained a little respect for Granny Goodness, loved the twist that Desaad is actually a "pretty boy" but uses a glamour to make him look all jacked up, and of course I was shocked about Big Barda being... well... BIG!!! Really enjoyed this.

8)

Ultimates - Okay,
Spoiler
She-Hulk totally hulking out and beheading #235 was awesome, and we get an interesting take on Shang-Chi (or Shen Qi ... which is pronounced very similarly by the way  ;)) and Danny Rand.
[close]
This title still has a lot of that... running in place feel, but I still enjoy being on the treadmill  8)

Incursion - Ugh, the art is just killing this title. That and I find it hard to care about Miles' plight here as it just doesn't... I don't know... I still think back to last issue, or the one prior, where they, Miles and Peter were literally, looking in windows to find his missing (stolen) sister and how stupid that felt/read to me. Well this reads with the same "Okay, whatever" lack of urgency. That said, I did enjoy seeing some Runaways  ;D

Bring on: Red Skull - Really liked the Red Skull story here, but the back-up story (which is really the main story that connects all of these one shots) is still weak as hell. Guggenheim is writing that part, soooo  :-X Only two more issues to go!

Jimmy T

Yeah, all those reasons are why I won't or haven't continued with Incursion. Seems pointless when the 'real' event is still upcoming.

Well, I think this will be an important aspect of the event, with both the Leader and Miles not being originally from 616 and now both... with Miles sister, in the 6160 universe, I think something has to happen with that. I think.  ;D ;)  I am at least hoping anyway. So yeah, I think... think... this is important, it's just not very good. ;D
I also think the co-writer on this is doing most of writing, if I had to guess, because the "voice" here is not too Deniz Camp like. But could be just Camp having a bad run as well. It happens I guess

Starman 37 - That was a great issue. I enjoyed the contrast between black & white and color. The conversations were interesting saw well. Loved seeing some of those old JSAers too.
Legion of Super-Heroes #11 - filler issue and not that exciting.

Scion 9 - Story is starting to drag.  Hopefully after this issues find it will pick up.

Meridian 9 - same here.  This needs to move a little faster.

Gay Titan

Absolute Flash #9
Batman Superman: World's Finest #45

Titans #29

Batman Superman: World's Finest #45... Not really a stellar issue. Just kinda MEH. Lex and Joker team-up. Seen it before. I am hoping DC does something to gear up to issue #50.

Nightwing #132... As much as I want this Cirque du Sin to be done and over, this "origin" issue was amazing and borderline creepy. I am definitely eager to see this play out.

Assorted Crisis Events - Man this series. Picture Ice Cream Man, but instead of that feeling of dread from those great horror based stories, you get wonderment from time based stories. Now, while they have the first 5 issues collected, I could suggest trying THAT as an intro to this series, but as each issue is a done in one, I think everyone interested should try this issue, issue #6, first, as it is a perfect example of what Deniz Camp is doing with time. Time as a concept, time as a function of our lives... everything time related. The stories are personal, heartfelt, and sometimes tragic, but often times, more often than not I think, they are uplifting... at least this one was. Ha. A great issue that, as someone that had a family member with dementia, I think showcases what loved ones go through living with that. Easily the Book of the week!!!

Rook - Enjoyable... and beautiful, sure, but... I don't know, I may switch to waiting on the collected sets for this series. It isn't bad, truly, and it is cool seeing all the Wardens and all that, but it still feels so very light on actual substance. I don't know, I have plenty of borrows, so maybe I'll keep up with it to keep up with it. Probably didn't help I read this after ACE #6

Solomon Kane - Zircher knows this character. The story wasn't a must read, at all, but art was sweet as hell and I enjoyed the journey nonetheless.

Savage Sword - Wow, if this book reinforces anything it is that when it comes to writing comics, Liam Sharp is a fantastic artist. Ha. I say again, wow. The first story here was amazing looking. Liam Sharp's art style fits the barbarian stuff spectacularly. These pages were beautiful looking, but the writing... oh the writing. From the first couple over-written panels to the Conan using the word "Mayhaps" (I kid you not), this was, at times, a chore to get through. The story was decent enough, though also, again, due to the writing, not good at the same time (which fits the story, hahaha, shhhhh). And then Ron Marz steps up on the second and... well... also falls on his face with a story so bland you know what will happen on the next page. Until that is a shocking, and totally infeasible twist, that leaves you scratching your head. Not the best SS issue.

Legion - I'll just say that I liked the previous issue a lot more than this one. NEXT

Hellblazer - And the demon lays the trap. Uh-Oh! Honestly, because of the writer and artist combo (Ennis and Dillon) and how parts of this story are playing out, this one felt a lot like a Punisher issue.

Abso WW - Another enjoyable issue, but not one to push for "Absolute of the Month". I enjoyed the art change though. It's pretty good and a nice respite from Sherman's style. At least for a couple issues.

Fantastic Four #2 - I really liked this issue! There are some flaws in the science logic I had to ignore but in doing so I was able to enjoy the heck out of this one.  Can't wait to see how this turns out next issue.

The Ultimates #15 - Excellent issue! What's this? Two good Marvel books in a row? Yes indeed.  I thought the Iron Fist stuff was cool but wow! She Hulk!

X-Men #20 - Somehow this book keeps me coming back for more. This issue does the same. Fun fight, interesting character moments, and an interesting cliffhanger!

Byte-Sized   #1-4  - Good fast family friendly read.  Jimmy would like it. It's about a family invaded by small robots on Christmas.

The First - ALTWAAL!!! Ha, man, the first... ahem... the first few issues of the First is an exercise in patience as we are just bombarded with character after character, rarely stopping for a breath, but starting with these two issues, things start to settle down just a tad, at least as far as the sheer number of characters we need to follow. It can seem daunting, but luckily, the recap page on each issue does help, especially early on.  ;D

Assorted Crisis Events Has been on my favorites list since issue 1 came out. I mean, it is a time story.  You'll be seeing the trade pop up on my Hoopla list in December.

Well, that's cool. I just wish they would have started with a different first issue. It wasn't bad, but nothing like issue #6 was for me. But again, there is a connection there for me. Plus, I read issue #1 before I knew each issue was one and done and as such, I don't think I enjoyed it for what it was, as I read it in a different manner. I read it thinking there was more coming, and thus it left me with an odd feeling on the issue. It just read a lot differently for me.

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #13 - Ok for a part one of a new arc but I'm not finding it that interesting.

GREEN LANTERN #28 - another new arc start comic.  Slow build up as most are but looking good.

SUPERMAN #31 (DC K.O.) - Another new arc start.  I wish Perry was still reading this. Would love to hear him rage before dropping it. 😂. I think it's going to be pretty good though.

NEW HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE #4 (OF 4) - This really showed how crappy the DC universe got after Flashpoint. So many horrible changes and resets. Thankfully DC seems to be back on track overall but that could all change after K.O.
