TV and Movies / Re: The Binge List
Last post by Perry - Feb 19, 2026, 06:36 PM
What we have watched over the past month or so...

Finished
      - Television
- House of the Dragon s1 and s2 - After GoT ended the way it did, season 8 being total shit, we stayed away. Glad we returned. This was good  ;D
- The Agency s1 - This spy series was fantastic!!! If you like Michael Fassbender or realistic... ish... spy stuff, this is a must! :)
- Wonder Man s1 - While the underpinning message was a little "beat you over the head", this was still pretty enjoyable. Well, for Marvel TV  ;D
- Fallout s2 - I never played the games, so not sure how much it veers away, but I still like this show. The wife even more so, I think  :)
- Plur1bus s1 - Wasn't sure how this was hitting me at first, but I really got into as we learn more about the... transmission  ;)
- His and Hers (6 ep mini) - Didn't expect this crime mini to hit for me and yes, ep 4 felt a little girlie ;D but man it came back hella strong  :D
- Stranger Things s5 - What a crap way to end the franchise. And after season 4's strong as hell outing? Booooooo  >:(
- Blue Lights s3 - Police procedural set in Belfast Ireland. Better than most all U.S procedurals, but a procedural nonetheless. Enjoyed this a lot  :)
      - Movies
- Predator: Badlands - They totally Disney'd up this movie, but even with that, I enjoyed this greatly!!!  8)
- Black Bag - It's a Fassbender'Orama. This felt like a MI5 tv episode... real quick watch, but we really dug this "spy'ish" Michael Fassbender thriller.
- Sisu - HAHA, a Finish action movie that pulled me and the wife right in. Great action, great gore, good movie. Even with the bullshit plane crash  ;D
- Eternity - An A24 movie so I had to watch. A24 does some amazing movies that other studios shy away from, but RomCom may not be their forte. Meh :(

Currently Watching
Cheers S2
House of Guinness (8 ep mini)
The Pitt s2
Death by Lightning (4 ep mini)
A Knight of Seven Kingdoms s1
Night Manger s1 (a rewatch as this Tom Hiddleston thriller just popped out an unexpected season two... nine years later :o )

I know I am forgetting a few that we have already watched, and I think I already included most of the MHz channel stuff and put it on my last binge list, but I think this is close

Ult Wolverine - This art is horrible to me. Blech! I know not everyone is hit with the same feeling that I have regarding Cappuccio's art "talent", and I also know this title is almost finished, but I will not be returning as long as Cappuccio is on interior art. I just can't any longer. He makes my eyes bleed... though that could be because I want to reach for a steak knife and jam it into each one of my pupils whenever I see his stuff. >:(  He is getting so close to Liefeld level for me it isn't funny  :P

WW Gold - This was fine. Nothing, at all, worth taking the time to read... unless you have extra time or are a fan of the character to the point you read everything... but yeah, it was fine

Spec Spidey - Oh poor, poor Sal. Gonna miss him... but luckily there are TONS of comics with his art ;D  This was not a "fun" read, due to the story (want to make that clear) not the ability of those involved IN the story, just the story is not one that elicits a good time, if ya get me, but it was an enjoyable one. Even though it was very much "sans joie" (as the French would say)  :)

Watchmen - From one "non-happy" issue to the next, huh?  ;) ;D Again, not a "fun" issue, but again, an enjoyable one!! I did notice that the issue was not entirely done with the 9 panel grid, there is some (very slight) variation and I didn't remember that being the case. I am sure I knew that there was not a "set in stone" nine-panel grid on every page mandate in this series, especially at the halfway point  ;), but yeah, just remembered... or thought I did... that almost every issue was set up just that way. Wrong  :)

Man, I couldn't even get finished with that slack list from last time, having no football screwed up my whole week ;D , so here's hoping this week goes better
;)

I see David Marquez is writing the Sinister Six book and Jeff seemed to like that issue #1, so maybe I will try that title (just to see how the penciler plots out and writes dialog)... IF and only if Jeff is wow'd by the second issue.

Also, I read Geiger #20 last week... I think it was, but I guess I forget to add it to my list, because I don't see where I discussed it
:(

And also... ummm also also, I mean... Did anyone read that WW Black&Gold one-shot from last week? (Or from a month ago if you got it when it hit). I was going to try it, as I think it is an anthology (and I'm really into them right now), but wasn't sure if it was worth a go. I will probably add it regardless, if I can get though this week's list, but just curious if it was a hit, mediocre or just garbage, so I could mentally prepare.

Geiger - It always seems that I read 20 some pages of this book and it feels like the story only progresses a tiny bit. I've used the terms spinning wheels with this title and once again, even though we get more... or I guess I should say we get a DIFFERENT plot device driving the story in this issue, it still feels overly drawn-out. This book is a decompressed story lovers dream. That said, the ending panel got me super excited! BAM!!  ;D

We're Taking - So far, book of the year. Ha, only a month and a half in to said year, so still early, but yeah, so far this is my book of the year. It will not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like Venture Bros, Archer, Marvel's Super-Villain Team-Up and/or Roger Moore James Bond... this may just be the book for you. I am not sure we will ever see more of this title (it had a satisfying end, but it was also left open, so maybe there will be more?) but I enjoyed it thoroughly.  8)

Planet She-Hulk #1 – Huge thumbs up. Stephanie Phillips absolutely nails this one; it's the exact opposite experience from some of the other recent launches. Big energy, big fun.

Death of the Silver Surfer #5 (of 5) – And here we go again with the trend of swapping out iconic characters for replacements nobody's invested in... including me. This ending didn't land. Thumbs down.

Legion of Super-Heroes #21 – Emerald Empress was a blast here. I'm genuinely excited to see what her new Fatal Five lineup could look like.

Legion of Super-Heroes #22 – The mystery around Sensorgirl was more compelling than the actual villain fights, but that's fine—the real story is clearly the larger plot brewing behind the scenes, and I'm definitely in for where it's heading.

Marjorie Finnigan, Temporal Criminal #6–8 – Not one of Ennis' stronger outings, but still a wild ride. I think I've finally outgrown his more juvenile tendencies, and this run convinced me I'll probably steer clear of his work going forward.

Sisterhood: A Hyde Street Story #1–4 – A Hyde Street tale of sorority hijinks gone horribly wrong, told in classic Geoff Johns fashion. Not exactly what I expected between the two best friends, but the added drama works. A decent read overall.

The First #12 – I really like this book. A small but interesting crossover with Crux, plus more insight into Wyture, which feels important for the whole CrossGen line.

Sojourn #3 – I'm really enjoying these characters, and a dungeon escape always helps. Even Greg Land's art looks good here—shocking, I know.

Sigil Vol. 3 – "The Lizard God!" (Collects #15–20) – A fun arc. Sam hops between other Sigil‑bearer worlds, including a quick stop on Meridian. Most of the story takes place in a Conan‑like realm with a bearer similar to himself. Loved this one.

DC K.O.: Knightfight #3 (of 4) – A strong issue, and you can tell they're saving the real punch for the finale. That last page is absolutely going to hit Jimmy right in the feels.

DC K.O. #4 (of 5) – I'm conflicted on this one. The back half fires me up for what's coming, but the opening—
the first meeting between our heroes and their Absolute counterparts—
lands with less weight than it should. It feels like a moment that deserved more drama. I'm still debating whether this is a must‑read for Perry, though it's guaranteed to piss him off either way.

Redcoat #15–16 – I've missed this series, and these two issues set the stage for what might be its strongest arc yet. Simon actually finding some happiness is a nice change... if only his past didn't have such sharp teeth.

Absolute Batman Ark‑M #1 (One‑Shot) – The Absolute Batman world continues its dive into horror with the origin of Arkham Asylum, and it absolutely delivers.

Absolute Superman #15 – Excellent start to the new arc. My only concern is the world drifting too close to the main DC universe—I hope it keeps its unique identity. Still, I love where things are headed next issue.

Batman #5 – Really enjoyed this one, especially that ending. Hilarious. This series might be leveling up.

Batman / Green Arrow / The Question: Arcadia #2 – Another strong issue. This trio works so well together, and the art continues to shine.
