UNCANNY X-MEN #11 - X-MANHUNT Part One - oh yeah! Loving this and where it's going! My man Xavier is back! And I like his mission.

NYX #9 - X-MANHUNT Part Two - I hate the way this writer wrote Charles.  But it did move the story forward.  Definitely glad I don't pick NYX up on a regular basis.

Storm #3 - X-MANHUNT Part Three - Good issue. I'm not reading this regularly so does anyone know how Storm became so powerful? This is almost Phoenix level so there must be some history here I'm missing.

WOLVERINE #7 - this sucked. And it was supposed to be the penultimate issue of this arc.  Do I want to read the finale? No. I don't even care how this ends.

THE ULTIMATES #10 - Another excellent issue.  Loved the twist at the end. Promises some great drama going forward.

Great timing as I just read the first two issues  ;D
Spoiler
Storm gets summoned by Eternity, who takes over her body (to prepare for a war with... Oblivion... or... Ha, I don't remember, but anyway....) so now she is called "The Eternal Storm"

It was cool, and I love the cosmic stuff, but... I don't know.

Sorry, my man, but yeah, I am also not fan of writer Saladin Ahmed's stuff. I did enjoy his Black Bolt mini, up to a point at least, but his book Abbott (which a lot of people like) fell well short for me. His Daredevil, which Jimmy and I discussed, was Boring (with a capital "B") and the first issue of this Wolverine didn't hit for me at all. I know it is a title you want to read, but I can't blame ya for jumping ship.

As for my week, I did flip through that Uncanny #11 as Jeff said he liked it, the first half of the comic that he had read at the time anyway, but the art isn't clicking for me. I know that is shocking, a Marvel book having less than stellar art  ;), but, on the flipside, as the look wasn't eye 'gougingly' bad, I will wait and see what you guys say about the first few issues of this crossover before I deny myself the read or dive in. If it hits, I will try, but if it is just... normal stuff...

EDIT - So out of curiosity, I just did a quick peek inside Chapter two if this cross-over (NYX #9) and I think I am changing my mind ;D This story needs to be a hell of a story for me to try it. No, the art isn't, again, the worst ever, but damn it is uninspired, rushed looking, drivel. Marvel is almost 100% Dynamite Publishing now. Hell, I think Dynamite may even have a better bullpen of art talent
>:( >:( >:(
I keep saying I haven't seen art this bad at Marvel since the early/mid 90's, but honestly, as much as I (truly) hated a lot of the art during that time, at least most of that had style to it. Maybe bad style, but it was present. This, to me, is even worse than that craptastic era as it is just bland, dowdy, tepid with background work as sparse as a desert oasis. Yuk!

Okay, enough positivity ;D my list this week is pretty much the same, sans some new Big Two!

Ultimates - Rapidly becoming a huge Deniz Camp fan. Great stuff here and loving the hell out of this version of the Torch. By that I mean his... attitude. Hahaha. As for the ending, yes, we all probably could have guessed that reveal if we had, it was still cool and does make me wonder how different the past is with him.

Mystic 38-40 - Decent ending to this arc. Giselle is finally getting respect for her efforts and accomplishments.  The surprise girl at the end must be from one of the other comics. I'm guessing these final issues will be part of a crossover I'll only get to read part of?

Legion of Super-Heroes 307-308 - Two so-so issues as the new villain is not very interesting. And I am not a fan of these new '80's costumes.  Bring back the classic 70's uniforms!

Deviant - This volume finishes up this series which ended up being a pretty darn good one

Legion - Meh

Hellblazer - We've already touched on the Cancer stuff that was put in the movie, now it's Gabriel's turn!!

GL Corps - Hmmm, I don't know what I want to say about this yet, so I'm not going to say too much other than that the art was interesting.

Dark Patterns - I enjoyed this 3 part arc more than the first and hoping the next two are just as strong

Abso Bats - Wow! Now that was a nice new take!!!

Gay Titan

This week's eBay find and purchase was Adventure Comics #0-8. It's from 2009, featuring Superboy, Cassie Sandsmark, and a version of the LSH.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #21 - Memento story progresses with a reveal at the end!

BATMAN: DARK PATTERNS #6 (OF 12) - wrap up of this Scarface arc. Expecting the next one to be just a good.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS #4 - Start of a new arc so kind of slow for me.  There was action but most of these lanterns I'm not interested in.

Saga - Sadly, I am still missing the "it" that this book used to have, for me, but going to stay on for the next volume as I hoping things are a changin'

Seasons - Okay, I see where we are going here. This is similar, somewhat, to Matt Fraction's Adventure Man, but... yeah, I like this one

Assorted Crisis Events - Man, one of the rare times I miss the physical comic here. This issue, as good as it was, missed the mark digitally (just slightly) only because the issue's design does not translate as well to single page reading. You really needed the entire digital issue to be shown in double page spreads.
This was an issue on immigration, pure and simple, behind an "Earth One" and an "Earth Two" based story, but the cool thing was, while it showed how each world was affected by a "crossover". It was really well done, balanced, not truly taking sides as much as showing just how difficult it all can be. But damn it would have read better on paper as, the way it was designed, each page was followed by the exact design on the opposite page, but with the outcome of the situation being different and told from the other point. Really well done!!

Year Zero Volume One - Pretty good zombie book.  Just the volume zero trade, it focuses on five characters from different parts of the world and follows then through the beginnings of this apocalypse.  Added bonus in this volume is we find out what started it all.
