The odd 5th week hits DC Unlimited this week, so I have... yeah... wow... no new DC comics to read this week, but that can't be a bad thing as I have more than enough Hoopla to get through (I'm only starting with a small amount at first) and I have more than the (seemingly) usual "one" new Marvel title to read

ALIENS VS. AVENGERS #3 - Good issue but man does it feel hopeless for our heroes!

DOOM ACADEMY #1 - Definitely has the feel of the old Strange Academy stories. I'm in.

Thunderbolts: Doomstrike #1 - I like this.  It's a good story and having Bucky back in espionage is always fun.

Weapon X-Men #1 - Wolverine, Cable, Deadpool, Chamber, and Thunderbird - sounds like an X-team I might draft!  Typical setup issue that's just ok but I like the villain this team is up against. And for the first time in a while, I'm a fan of every single team member.  I'll be around for this one.

MYSTIQUE #5 - I don't know if I like this ending.  Pretty grotesque.  Wraps up this story but leaves a lot out there for more.  I have to admit though, if there is more I'll be there for it.

UNCANNY X-MEN #10 - Decent enough ending but not enough to keep me on the title.  Of course next issue is the start of a multi series crossover so I guess I'll be back for at least one more.

ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER #13 - Very cool issue.  I really enjoyed the art in this as well.  New story arc and it started with a bang.

ULTIMATE WOLVERINE #2 - I really like this series. Another good and brutal combat issue. I don't think the Rasputin really understand what they have. And that might just come back to bite them.

Mystic 32-34 - This is turning into the best arc of the series! Giselle trapped in a world without magic and when she returns all secrets are out and there's all chaos in the realms. A lot of threads are coming together!

Legion of Super-Heroes #305 - An ok story with some big ramifications.

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD'S FINEST 2025 ANNUAL #1 - "We Are Yesterday" part 3 - the art in this Annual was not very good.  The story seemed a little super friends cartoony. But there is one action that promises to be interesting as the final page showed!

Phantom Road 11 & 12 - Great two issues! This arc takes us back to the FBI investigation that possibly started this all.  We might be getting some answers but are they only bringing more questions?  I'm dying to see the next issue after the cliffhanger in issue 12!

It was okay. Pretty good, but man it got way too much hype when it first came out. 
I am not trying to take away from what it was, but yeah... it wasn't as good to me as it was to most. Hope you are one of the ones it hits large for.


Of course, on my end, I totally didn't think about the fact that it is still May, so I am not going to start the monthly Marvel Read until next week, ya know, when it is the new month, so... yay, that opens up a lot of time for this week

Legion - A couple okay issues, with 305 being the better. Different inker on that issue, which did make a difference, though luckily, not a big one. I don't remember how... the spoiler... turns out so I am excited for that. The Star Boy issue was okay, loved seeing Swan art, as always, but I am just over the "voting on a leader" aspect. 

Hyde St. - As with each issue of this title, there is nothing to write home about here, but its an entertaining read, when and if it comes out on Hoopla 

Minor Arcanna - I wish Boom would have included this issue with the collected edition. It fits so much better in that first trade than it read on its own. It wasn't bad, and sets up some cool stuff, but yeah, this would have been a nice "last issue" of the collection 

Phantom Road - A very fast read. I now wish I read it the way Jeff just did, going back-to-back with the issues, as this read (much like the title above) with this issue needing to be part of another, I feel. Still good, don't get me wrong, but yeah... 

The Seasons - Wow, on the flip side, we have this (new to me) title. This issue, though "double sized", felt like it needed another 10 pages. Haha, good (and very intriguing) start to this Remender title with very cool art by Azaceta (which I know from his and Kirkman's Outcast book). Yeah, you will need at least two or three issues to be totally pulled in, maybe, but I am already in after the first issue!! 

Redcoat - More revealed! And I am getting more excited for this title as each month's issue passes.   

Geiger - This is, like always, fine. The story progresses, but it never seems like it does. This could easily be issue #5 and it would feel the same

Ult Panther - Well now, did NOT see that coming!! Oh, and I didn't like her at first... no, I shouldn't say that, I was just apprehensive at first, but the more I see of this "Inan", this universes new Sorcerer Supreme, the more I like her.

Hellblazer - The always dependable and often used classic story of an Angel and Demon hooking up, but with a nice revenge twist

Aliens v Avengers - Another good issue. Man, waiting the two or three months for these issues to drop is killing me, but it is worth it... almost

Ult. Wolvie - Sadly, I just don't think Chris Condon's writing style is for me. This is the second book in as many months of his that I have decided to part ways with. Just odd after I really did enjoy his comic That Texas Blood...  the main title he wrote, yet I kept only remembering the smaller Enfield Gang mini  ... but he is starting to hit pacing beats like another writer I am not a huge fan of, so yeah, I think I'm done

Hotell Vol 2(collects issues #1-5) - This book is creepy as all get out. Might be what's been giving me nightmares!  A little more interesting over all arc that ties all the stories together and an ending comeuppance to go down in history.

The Good Asian vol 1 - well it looks like I'm adding Volume 2 to my list! Good crime noir set in 1930's Chinatown.  Just when I thought we were close to solving the case......cliffhanger!  Gotta see how this ends because the web has been a fun ride.

Glad to hear it hit for you. I stopped after issue #3 (or so). It seemed right up my alley (30's Pulp era, crime Noir? HELLS YEAH!!!), but...

Dang it, here I go with the negative comments and not the positive again. Sure, not a "bad" negative, hahaha, but still, seems like I have done far less praising and far too much of the other lately.
