Thor - I wasn't going to read this, but a month or so ago I stopped into the small LCS by my house to check in and ask how things were with him and the shop and while I was there the shop owner was talking about the new Thor title. He mentioned that, as I was Thor fan from back in the "yester'when", I should give the new Thor title a shot. So curious, when I got home I read the preview pages... and then I ended up not stopping at just the preview pages, ha, and I went to that one site and read the damn entire issue. So now I figured I would peek in this issue to take a look at how we got to THAT point. The art by the main penciler is still not to my liking and Pascal Ferry, who drew the end section is decent enough (and is the new title artist), but I did end up really liking the... almost Michael Oeming look to the art that was sandwiched between the two by Justin Greenwood  :)

Gay Titan

Absolute Batman #12... WOW!!! Alot of character developement in such a few pages. This universe is about to get very dark and twisted.

Titans #27... Decent wrap up with the Doom Patrol. I enjoyed to mini-origin to the Zookeeper and how it tied to Absolute Power.

Thanks! This was the fourth and final surgery. He's on the mend and the surgeons were very happy with everything. I will be working from home til January to keep an eye on him.

Iron Man - I just love doing this. Comics that I have totally forgotten or, like this one, that I have never had the chance to read, are so cool to revisit (or visit for the first time). And funny how an Iron Man comic can make me want to read another character's comic from this time. But that is probably just my "Grey" matter messing with me  ;)

Solomon Kane - This is NOT an exciting comic, but it is cool as an idea and it is very well put together. I'm not wowed by it, but I am enjoying it  :)

Legion - Only been five other issues of this series, and I have enjoyed them up to this point, so I am hoping this was just a hickup for the series. I should have enjoyed this more than I did, it being a lot of "Electric" characters... which I do love. Art was... different than I was expecting, so that didn't help and it may have influenced my enjoyment level  :(

Dark Patterns - Good art, though getting a tad repetitive looking at times, and a decent start to the last three issue arc. Coming round again  :D

Absolute Bats - Back and forth and back and forth between these four Absolute titles, but I think, for the seond month in a row, Batman is winning. That isn't knocking the others, but this is just... brutal. And I like that  ;D

Ult Wolverine - Condon is a good writer. I know this as I've seen it. I've read it. But there has always been just something off here. Much like Percy's Marvel work, I enjoy the plot and getting to the resolve more than I enjoy the pacing/timing/writing of the journey. And I know Jeff disagrees, but I personally can't wait for Lin to return on art duties. I am not a fan of this artist  >:(

Captain America - I got about halfway through this issue, give or take, and I was sure I was not coming back to this title. It started almost note for note like so many other, recent Cap stories so I the thought of going through that again was not appealing. However, something happened towards the late half that has me pulled in. Is it similar still to what has came before, yes, but it also has some cool potential. Here for at least one more issue.  8)

#9
Justice League Unlimited #11 & Justice League: the Omega Act Special #1... this story is finally gaining momentum. Great to see how the characters interact with each other. The art was really distracting in parts. I know this arc will end with DC: KO, but the jury is still out if I want to read it.

Masters of the Universe: Andra One Shot... Not sure why this was in my pull. I've read most of the MOTU mini-series (plural), but this one shot sucked, adding nothing to the overall universe.

DC K.O - I wasn't going to read this, but I was waiting for the wife to come back from taking her aunt someplace, saw it was up on DCU, so I decided to see what was inside. This is... not for me. I won't go into too much, but as a point of contention... I hate when the letterer gets in the way of the book. Now the lettering is not the SOLE reason this didn't do it for me, but it was an issue for me. I can't remember that other title that I semi-recently had a similar complaint on ;D , but I am wondering if this is the same person. The lettering here wasn't as intrusive as that first one (Damn it, I can't remember what title or issue that was), but the lettering still draws the eye away from where I should be looking a little too often... I mean in a distracting way. As for the issue... outside of the letters, hahaha, it started out pretty cool,
Spoiler
even resolved the "Nu52" in a cool way
[close]
, and I thought I was going to be surprised and really dig this darn thing, but then the further I read and got deeper in... yeah... I will just leave it as "This is not for me". That said,  I hope you guys enjoy the hell out of this

Gay Titan

Perry, I think you just solidified my decision to pass on KO. Thanks for saving me some $$.

Local Man Vol 3 (Collects issues 10-13) - Enjoyed this wrap up for the series.  This wound up being a lot of fun and I wouldn't mind getting more.

CAPTAIN AMERICA 1 - Chip Zdarsky - I liked it! I'm in to see who these new characters are or who they turn out to be.

X-Men: HELLFIRE VIGIL #1 - the only thing this year was to convince me not to read the upcoming crossover. This was really bad. I'm not a fan of the creative teams on all of X-Men books now.

X-MEN #19 - And this actual issue leading to Revelation changed my mind. I'm in!

Gay Titan

JSA #12 - It feels like we endured a big build up to a very short battle. At this point, I like the villains more than the actual heroes. Plus, that character change on the last page makes no sense.

Supes Spectrum - I was fearful, due to the creative team on this, that the first issue of this mini would seem like a World's Finest comic inside the Ice Cream Man universe, but instead I got an Ice Cream Man like story inside the DC Universe. And that was awesome. With this second issue however, we get hit with more of the ICM feeling, making it have those ICM tendrils that want to burrow into your brain. The story is still fun, even though Supes and Bats voices are just... just a little off, but the story is kind of odd anyway... like a 60's Superman story... so it still works, even though I am not sure where I am.  ;)

Godzilla Thor - A nice one-shot with an unexpected antagonist. Is this "worthy" of your time? Meh, probably not, but Kuder's art made this time waster enjoyable for me anyway   :D

Green Goblin - I like the way they are doing this mini. You get a story, featuring the "villain of the month" (next month its Abomination) and there is also an overarching story featuring Mephisto that ties all the issues together. Pretty cool  :)
